Q: Is my cat on drugs, she has terrible paw eye co-ordination and often misses things she’s jumping onto?
Sorry, I’m not involved in drugs(do drink yes) but Lucy seems a bit unsafe on her feet when jumping as she misses things, could it be stress cos there’s a nasty Tom cat that gives her grief and steals her food
A: Your cat may have problems with it’s vision. You might want to go to a vet and have your cat checked out.
Q: My cat consumed some drugs, hes trippin, what do i do?
my good friend brought over some magic mushrooms that he picked and then proceeded to cook them with chicken. My cat proceeded to eat out of the pan during cooking. He is now jumping around the room and running into windows, help!!!
A: … Are you f***ing crazy?! *Never cusses* … People like you should not own cats. I suggest you ‘proceed’ to the vet, or your cat could be in trouble.
Q: What kind of food or drugs can I give to my cat to shrink or slow down his bladder tumor?
It is too large to surgically remove, but I’d like to slow it down to extend this cat’s remaining quality time.
Thank you all for your caring answers. It is a difficult time.
A: You cant feed him anything to slow his growth of the tumor. The other reccommendation I have is to get a second opinion of the tumor and see if it can be removed by a board certified surgeon or at least debulked (part of the tumor removed) Youd be surprised what some specialty doctors can do surgically. Other options are to ask your vet about chemotherapy or radiation. But if you can afford it I would always recommend getting one or 2 second opinions from someone slightly more qualified in surgery than a general practice vet in a situation such as this. If the second opinion differs from the first opinion you may want to go ahead and get the third i have seen quite a bit of variations with what drs will say in the business of veterinary medicine. If cost is the issue I would say euthansia may be the best option if the cat is truly suffering but only your vet can give you an estimate on his quality of life.
Q: are there cat-safe substances/drugs that temporarily mellow them out?
we are looking to take a gag-family-portrait, but one of my cats is a complete spazz; i’m trying to find a way to get her to cooperate. sweet-talking and treats/ catnip don’t work.
any suggestions?
A: There’s something called “Good Cat” that you can get at a lot of pet supply stores. It’s a liquid that you put in their water and it helps mellow them out…a little. I had to use it on my older cat when I brought home a new kitten. It doesn’t make them drunk or anything, but it helped my older cat get used to my younger one without too much fighting. They’re best of friends now. Good luck.
Q: why does my cat only talk to me when drugs are involved?
he speaks russian?
jaws65! if you think i`m loser my cat just sleeps all day and pisses in a box?
theshadowknows that my cat has better breath than him?
A: because you should not be taking them its making you see things and hear thing sthat are not there. sad.
Q: What effect would magic mushrooms or acid have on a dog or cat?
I AM NOT GOING TO FEED MY CAT DRUGS. I WOULD NEVER DO THAT.
I was just curious as to how you think drugs would effect an animal if you fed them to it, would they see what we see?
Yeah, i blatantly have loads of Uni work to do, but it just popped into my head.
A: This is high-qual DV material right here.
You’re effectively going to get the same effects as in humans, but MUCH stronger (less body mass = higher potency). Think catnip, a hundred times over. More likely than not, one full mushroom would be immediately lethal to either a cat or dog.
Q: I have a 15yr old cat who has arthritis , how can this be treated, without heavy drugs?
Can glucosamine help and what type and how much in a dose?
A: I have personal experience with both a cat and a dog improving greatly on Glucosamine.
Because I worked in the dietary supplements field I knew which were the better brands. One of them, BioChem has a good product in capsules. Capsules are great because you can easily open them and divide doses. In this case, the caps are 500 mg each, so you would need to divide for a cat.
Off the top of my head I do not remember the cat’s dosage, but for the first month or so we doubled it up. Refer to the poster who provided dose. About that time the cat had begun to improve so we reduced by half to the standard cat dose.
I totally recommend you try it. Bear in mind it does not work overnight. You may need to wait a month or more to see improvement.
The exact product used was BioChem Glucosamine+ Chondroitin Formula. Better to buy online if the shipping isn’t high as the discount some online retailers offer is substantial.
I do hope your cat improves.
Q: How can I sedate my cat using over-the-counter medicines?
I am going through some rough times financially. I used to be able to have my very long-haired cat shaved on a regular basis. Getting a cat groomed is really expensive, mainly because they have to be sedated while being groomed. I’d like to try and groom my cat at home with an electric shaver. How can I sedate my cats with drugs at home? Would Benadryl work?
A: Don’t give your cat anything for humans! Even if no one says it will harm the cat, OTC medications are made for humans, which means that effects on cats may not be known.
My cat has problems travelling, so I asked my vet about a mild sedative. She gave me a prescription that ended up costing less than $10.
Q: My cat is allergic to fleas are there any home remedies or over the counter drugs I can use for his itching?
A: First be sure you cat is kept on flea prevention year round. Buy the prevention from the vet and not at Wal-Mart or a pet shop. Flea prevention from places other then your vets office can be extremely toxic to your cat. I’ve seen many cats have reactions to OTC flea prevention and have even seen some die. Second if this has been diagnosed by a vet and you’re sure it’s flea allergies you can try benadryl for the itching. It won’t work as well as a steroid shot from the vet but it may help a little. You can give 1mg per pound. So make sure you know how much your cat weighs first. Example if your cat weighs 12lbs they it can have half of a 25mg benadryl. You can do this twice a day. Hope this helps.
Q: how much does an inducing cat labour drug cost in vet fees?
my cat is day 70 tomorrow and she is having a drug to induce the labour for her own safety, does anyone know a rough cost?
I know c-sectons cost around £100 but that would only be needed if she gets any babys stuck inside her ect so the vet said.
any ideas?
A: I’m afraid I don’t know. Really, every vet is different and has a different fee schedule. I’d think the best way to get your answer is to call the vet and ask. Good luck and congrats on your cats new arrivals
Q: What effects do drugs have on dogs and cats?
I’m just carious if drugs effect animals the same way they effect us, I don’t plan on giving any animals drugs.
How would E effect a dog or cat?
What would happen if you let the dog eat shrooms. Would dog dog trip or not, once again I’m just carious. What would happen to a cat on shrooms?
How about if you had a sweet tart with a drop of acid on it, how would that effect a cat or dog.
A: E would kill a dog or cat, even just once. shrooms would cause the dog or cats liver to fail, which would kill them. and like the others acid would also kill then, ALL ON THE FIRST TIME. so dont be an idiot, killing animals isnt funny. It is animal cruelty and you would go to jail.
Q: Okay so i think my cat is on drugs.?
No, not really. But she won’t stop following me around, rubbing against me, climbing up me, meowing at me, etc. She also is not meowing (I’ve never heard my cat actually meow, she’s a little different ^_-) But she’s cooing. She sounds like there’s a bird lodged in her throat! She’s bein really weird. Any thoughts?
Cheers
She was VERY sick as a kitten, and can’t have babies
I also love her up more than any one cat is entitled too.
A: She is really attached to you and wants your attention. Cooing is like purring. Play with her more. Get toys that give her exercise. Get her a kitten, this way she will have a playmate and not be as focused on you.
Q: My BF’s cat takes drugs?
she gets all high and stuff…how do i stop her w/o asking my BF if he put the drugs in the house…
A: Do you mean your boyfriend gives the cat drugs.I am sure the kitty is not on the street corner selling herself for drugs to get high. The cat needs to be giving to a loving home and not be with a wacko like your boyfriend.Maybe you should think about getting a new boyfriend.
Q: Is it safe to give my cat catnip? She absolutely loves it and really gets excited when I take out the bag.?
I just don’t want to get her hooked on a cat drug that is bad for her.
She doesn’t eat it only rolls around in it.
A: Um, a cat’s not going to get “hooked” on catnip. They’re aren’t support groups for addicted kitties nor do they steal to support their habit. And your cat won’t overdose. Give your kitty catnip as much as you want.
One great product I’ve found that my kitties love is called “Marinated Mice”. It’s four little fuzzy toy mice packed into this container full of compressed catnip pellets. You put the mice back in to “recharge” with the scent. All my cats LOVE these mice and will grab them and rub on their faces in pure joy
PS: I have a tshirt that says “If you don’t talk to your cat about catnip… who will?”
PPS: Mike is exactly right about them going to great lengths to get it – I had a fresh catnip plant high on a shelf once and came home to find it disemboweled on the floor – dirty everywhere and the cats singing “Crystal Blue Persuasion”.
Q: why do people give cats catnip? do they think it funny to watch there cat go crazy on drugs?
its not good 4 them!and yes it is bad to drug your cats just to watch them go crazy. what if someone hid drugs in your pillow to watch u hallucinate and go crazy? would you like people laughing at you and watching you on drugs? sounds a little inhumane to me!
my cat bites and scratches and hisses at evrything and stretches alot like it tightens her muscles and makes her run. its not good.
but marijuana has medical properties too! and with me and all the sane people out there we are not going to be pursuaded to let it be legal! what if there was a plant that did that to humans? they would run around killing and tearing things up and running around breaking stuff! you think its funny to watch your cat do this?

sorry i clicked on the submit button beacause the computer wouldnt load and it made it go on a thousand times!
A: I don’t personally use it but if the the cats enjoy it, it doesn’t hurt them, and it’s entertaining to watch then I don’t see the problem with it.
