For more information about Drugs for Birds, visit our pet site Online Pet Drugs website OnlinePetDrugs.com

Q: Are there any sleep drugs for birds? (NOT to kill them!)?
My cockatiel is very nervous around humans. she is always in her cage. if i try to get close to her, she will try to bite. I need to cut her nails because they are too long. the only way i see myself doing that is if she is asleep. So, my question is are there any drugs for birds to make them fall asleep? NOT to kill them!

A: Search youtube for videos on nail clipping and they will show you how to properly hold the bird so she can’t bite you and how to cover her wit ha towel. My bird is a biter too but if you hold their head they can’t bite you. It takes some practice

Q: What Medicines/drugs from Medical Store can be use for Birds?
Actually we do not have any vet in our area, even far away. So I want to know what human medicines can be use in birds treatment. Also what things can be added in my First Aid Kit, I want to make one. I have so many Finches, 1 Pheasant, 1 Duck and now buying Parrots, Canaries and other birds.

Also appreciate if any I can make home remedies / home made medicines.

A: Dear friend. I was very sorry to here of your loss. I see that
phoenix had some very good information for you. Prevention
is the best cure of all. One must keep there cages very
clean and free of ‘live things’ at all times. Overcrowding is
often a major factor in aviary health. Sun light is a very good
disinfectant when the temperature permits. The turpentine
and the iodine that I told you about is always good to have
on hand for the things I told you about the other time. You
‘can get a box of ‘pickling lime’. You would find it in a store
that sales jars and tops and thing for canning things. Put
the ‘pickling lime’ in a pan. Place the pan in the cage so
the birds can dust themselves. The line is good to keep
‘lice’ off of the birds. You can tell if they have ‘lice’ by looking
under there wings close to the skin. Or if you see them
scratching there head with a foot like a dog they may have
lice. The lice (insects) can also be controlled by using
ceder wood shavings to litter there cages. I no longer have
chickens as I am retired from full time work. Thank you very
much for your email. I live in a small town with no pet store
around. All farming where I live. I wish you the very best
of luck with the birds as well as big profits. A friend.

Q: Thin Lizzy fans, who can tell me about Phils life and death?
Hello yahoo people, im not that old and ive just discovered thin lizzy and the boys and im interested in phil lynott, was he, as ive heard a typical heavy metal geezer, drugs, drink, birds etc and did the drugs kill him in the end and who was Leslie Crowther, some sort of funny bloke was he? Cheers for ya help.

A: Crowthers daughter married or certainly was an item with Phil when he died.
Crowther used to host Crackerjack and went on to do lots of tv stuff including The price is right. Phils mother was hit hard by his death and the last doc i saw on tv she still visited his grave regularly.

Just sent you a link to your email…

Q: Does bird man still sell drugs even though hes a multi millionaire?
Or does he at least drop drugs on his blocks for people to sell and he gets profit or he gets all his money legally
Just curious I Want to write a school report on famous rappers who talk about selling drugs if its a front or reality not that its anything to be proud of

A: He more than likely does although I’m sure he doesn’t need the extra money.

Q: Drugs for swine/bird flu?
I remember a couple of years ago when the bird flu scare was at its height that large quantities of anti-viral drugs were manufactured and distributed, but so far not needed. Can this drug also be used against swine flu?

A: That’s what they claim. After all it’s just another flu virus, I can’t see why people are so panicked by it. Normal flu treatment should suffice.
Don’t worry about it. Most of what you see is just of the usual Media rubbish they stout out.

Q: Immunosuppressants and birds?
A family friend is coming to spend the week at my house and she just got a kidney transplant 6 months ago and is on immunosuppressants. People on these drugs are told not to have birds as pets because of the diseases they carry. I have 4 birds including a duck in the part of the house she is staying in and they have all been tested for diseases and have come up clean. I can’t move the birds into the other part of the house because they fight with the birds over there. I’ve disinfected all the cages and everything including mopped with disinfectant. What more can I do to keep my friend from getting sick?
Don’t worry, I used bird-safe cleaning products.
I’m going to try to keep the birds out of the same room as my friend and she wont be handling the birds at all. Do you think the dander will travel farther than 3 rooms? because that’s as far as I can get the birds away from her.

A: First of all, moping the house in disenfectant was harmful for the birds. No cleaning products around birds–use Apple Cider Vinegar—kills all germs and bacteria.
If your birds have been tested and are disease free then she should have nothing to worry about. And if she has been on the immunosuppressants for 6 months she should be fine. Most people should worry about giving things such as colds and flus to the the birds and doing more harm to them. Just keep the cages extra clean (with ACV and water), keep the poopy papers to a minimum and enjoy your visit with your friend.

Q: Do parents still have the “birds and the bees” convo?
My mom told me she took me to a library when I was little to explain things as I asked them but I don’t remember. Everything I learned was for personal investigation and trial and error.
I think it has to be one on the most uncomfortable thinks to take to you kid about, even more than drugs.

A: My kids are 5, 6, and 8, so we havent had the actual “birds and the bees” talk yet, however, I have starting talking with my son about some things, mainly things that I over hear him talking about from things he’s heard at school, or when he asks me about it. I have made it very clear to my kids that they can always come to me with questions about anything, and no matter what the subject matter is, I will tell them the truth. Now true, I do give them answers in an age appropriate way, but they get the truth nonetheless. Example – my son said someone on his bus called someone else a “douchebag” and asked me what a douche is. I told him it is something that ladies sometimes use to clean out their privates. That answer was fine for him, and he didn’t ask anything else about it. I think the most important thing about that is just making sure kids know that they can come to you – I DO NOT think trial and error is a good way for kids to learn, and no matter how uncomfortable I may be about it, I always want my kids to have correct information.

Q: Keeping cats away?
I am not a huge cat lover, our neighbors keep outdoor cats becuase there is not a ordience for cats in the city that I live in. Right now they have 12 cats outdoor cats, that they do nothing more than feed and water, the cats are missing huge patches of fur all over their bodies, are not fixed, not shots and just roam everywhere destroying personal property, they clawed my patio cushions to shreds, throw up hairballs on my cars and drug dead birds on my cars and kids play equipment…it is gross. I have throw water (or whatever liquid is close by at them) tried trapping them (the neighbors spring the traps) I am getting so tired of it I am about to put antifreeze out or shoot them with a bb gun…I just really hate the thought of doing any of that but at the same time my husband and I work very hard for what we have and will not keep watching it get destroyed. We have called the cops several times and talked to the neighbors nothing has helped..how can I keep these pests away???
The neighbors tell the cops that the cats aren’t theirs so even though they are the ones that feed and water them and even have a stupid “cat house” in their backyard for the vermin.
I have called the local pound and the humane society and was told by the pound that they would not come out to caught the cats because it is not illegal let cats run loose, but I could trap them and bring them to the pound myself (which I have tried doing several times), the humane society told me that they wish they could help me but they are filled to the max with cats and can not take anymore. I DO NOT want to hurt these cats at all but I am just running out of ideas.
Moving is not an option, we own our home.
Once again I will say that I really DO NOT want to hurt these cats. I know that it is not their fault, that is why I asked what else I could do. To the people that are asking about fences I do have a fenced in back yard, I also have a dog but we bring him in at night and durning the day unless the weather is nice, I hate leaving him out if it is hot or cold. Also to the person that said I was mean, you couldn’t be more mistaken, we have 2 cats that we keep indoors and we take them to the vet yearly, what is mean is seeing these cats so mistreated, I could do nothing more than feed and water my kids but that isn’t taking care of them. If my dog or kids go onto to some else’s property and tear something up, than I am held responisble for that, even though it isn’t my property, it is the same thing with these cats, they are not mine and are in no way shape or form my resposibility.

A: On your patio furniture, there is a bitter apple tasting spray that you can get. If they go onto the furiniture, and scratch and/or bite it, they’ll taste it and learn to stay away. There are other products you could put in your yard that have smells that cats don’t like that could keep the cats away. Some cats don’t react to it, though, but you could try it and see. You could even try spraying it on the outside of your car (it actually smells pleasant to humans; it has a bit of a floral scent).

Unfortunately, the only other thing I could recommend is getting another, larger dog and keeping him outside always. If he has a large doghouse and plenty of water, he should be ok with the heat. I would have recommended the spraying them with water thing, but you have tried that already. Cats are stubborn; maybe if you kept trying it will work eventually?

Other than that…I’m really sorry about your situation. I LOVE cats, and that would drive me crazy as well. Please, though, no matter how annoying they get, please do not harm them, even as a last resort. It is cruel, and they don’t deserve it

I hope I was able to help a little.

Q: Does the Co-Co Puffs bird give you the impression that he is selling drugs, not cereal?
I’M COO COO FOR CO-CO PUFFS! *jumps around acting like a maniac*

A: haha
Yeah

Q: Why are Americans so addicted to being afraid?
Terrorism, bird flu, SARS, AIDS, drugs, crime; a cornucopia of paranoia. The media serves it up and we gorge ourselves on it. What is the problem? Do we not feel complete unless we think something’s out to get us? Quality of life is better now than it ever has been, why are we looking for the boogyman around every corner?

A: Because it’s largely profitable.

Who would want to get stuck to the TV set when everything is fine?

Fear is the most profitable business.

Ask any media mogul.

Q: What sort of drugs make a good liberal?
I’ve been experimenting with mescaline and this new form of crack, but I was wondering, what drugs make for the best liberal? I know that with Obama it was crack and with Bill it was pot. Maybe if I try all of the drugs? Of course, bush doesn’t want me to do this. He’s evil and he ran over my dog. I’ll never see my little scruff again and I can never forgive him for that, or the 70 million people and countless other pets (peta.org for details) he’s butchered. Wait a second. There’s a bird outside my window. It’s black like a cia helicopter. Bush must be using it to spy on me! Oh how sad is the day with this man can even turn mother nature against us! I thought it was just hurricane Katrina with karl roves weather machine cuz bush hates blacks, but apparently I was wrong. We must do something! The bird is still watching me! It’s reading what I’m typing! I’m sorry, but I must hit enter soon before it reports back! Please answer my question. Liberals, we must untie!

A: A good mix of LSD, mushrooms, Opium, Heroin, and Meth should do the trick.

Q: Why can’t we legalize drugs?
Tell my why it’s so important that we continue to criminalize drugs? By making these substances illegal, all we do is create clandestine economies for which we have no control via taxation and regulation. Criminalization ensures this.

What if we legalized it, taxed and regulated it? FDR legalized alcohol. America didn’t fall apart at the seams then. No! In fact, we were among the victors. What if we legalized other drugs besides ethanol? We could pull our nation of debt and end all the drug-gang violence. That’s killing two birds with the same stone!!

By allowing pharmaceutical companies to manufacture these substances, we can also regulate the chemical effluent that clandestine operations dispose of at the peril of our communities. Legalization of drugs is good for the environment, too.

A: I have a family member that struggled with heroin addiction, and several alcoholic aunts and uncles. They all ruined their lives. Guess which ones died? Two of them were using a perfectly legal drug and died of liver failure. The heroin addict is now clean and healthy.

I’m not sure about legalizing certain drugs, but you do have to admit that it is sort of hypocritical of people to think deadly drugs like nicotine and alcohol should be legal, but pot shouldn’t. How many people have died from pot? Compare that to the number of deaths from alcohol and smoking….no comparison.

I think we should make all drug offenses except dealing a misdemeanor, where you would get a citation like a speeding ticket, and mandatory counseling. If people weren’t so afraid of being arrested, I think it would be easier to track them and help them. We could take the money we are spending on the futile “war on drugs” and use it for rehab resources. Currently, heroin addicts have to wait in line to get into a methadone clinic. That’s ridiculous. People who want to get clean should have the resources available to do it. That benefits not just them but us as well because it would reduce crime.

Q: If Republicans are all for “small government”, what’s with the “War on Drugs”?
…Who is the government to come in and say that a PLANT is illegal and you are a criminal for growing it and a criminal for what you choose to put in your own body?

Who is the government to build massive amounts of jails and a criminal justice beurocracy just to house political “criminals” ie NON violent drug offenders (50% of jail population),
diverting the police and investigators attention away from REAL criminals, like murderers, child molesters and rapists?

And filling our court houses with BS red tape?
Is this all to create government jobs
and kill two birds with one stone, the poor are sedated and have drugs to sell, and when caught, are housed in jails keeping the unemployment rate low while creating more jobs for government workers?
Phil: unfortunately, that’s not a real answer,
That’s a coward’s way out of the major contradictions of your party,
Small government is not starting a “war on drugs” ie “war on american citizens”,
beefing up military with massive spending so we can go on world policing adventures.
Patrick, You too.
Now try answering the question,
how do you think “small government” and a “war on drugs” is at conflict since we never even had this problem before criminalization <1940's?
Wendy: A typical anti-intellectual repug ad hominem because you have NO ARGUMENT WHATSOEVER,
your party’s supposed platform is a damn sham,
prove otherwise.
Susi:
Do you know why your argument falls flat on it’s face?
Because guess what hun,
Half are ALREADY STONED ON DRUGS.
KC V: That 50% are catagorized as NON VIOLENT DRUG OFFENDERS.

the minimum manditory for selling the “distribution” amount is in actuality very small and what good do you think it does to put these people in jail for as long as MURDERERS?
IT HAS FAILED. THERE IS ALWAYS ANOTHER ONE TO TAKE THE PLACE.
the fact of the matter is that, although we punish these non violent drug offenders as if they were actually murderers,
hell, sometimes they get LONGER sentences than murderers,
the problem has only worsened and that’s the fact.
KC V: furthermore, the argument of it being ‘dangerous or addictive’ falls flat on it’s fact since alcohol is much more dangerous than ANY drug and cigarettes are not only dangerous, but nicotine is as addictive as heroin.

A: I think you are confusing several distinctly separate issues and are attempting to tie them all together into one neat little package.
First, who is the government? It is “We The People…” You may have been too zoned out in your governments class to catch the part about the basis of all civilizations being built upon governing laws designed to protect. You don’t strike me as the type to REALLY study the chemical composition of the various “plants to which you refer, their effects on the cell structure as well as the residule effects. Perhaps you should.
Your spelling (“beurocracy”) is even worse than mine! You were sitting in the back of the class? Or, you simply didn’t see a need to make it that day…
Here’s a thought for you: The poor are poor because of bad life decisions — repeated decisions. You honestly think getting blasted out of one’s mind is going to help them make better decisions? They have little to no money, so you condone the idea of them spending what little they do not have on “recreation” such as Ipods, cell phones, beer, cigarettes and “plants?” I thought that was what cable TV was for!!! Personally, I’m tired of my tax dollars being wasted on this class of people and those who would condone the advocacy of such “lifestyles.”

Q: possible reasons to give rimadyl to birds?
I am updating/transferring my birds’ health records into a new computer. while reading over my vet invoices, i see that i brought one of my birds to the vet for an emergency check up. the invoice indicates that there was a problem, but doesn’t give details as to what it was. then, it says they gave me 25 mg tablets of rimadyl for one of my lovebirds, and i vaguely remember having to administer the drug by syringe, but I just can’t remember why. i feel terrible that I can’t remember why i brought my baby to the vet!
I’m not worried about it, because this was back in 2004 and he’s been completely healthy since, but I’m very curious to know of some reasons this drug might be prescribed for a bird. online all i could find was that it’s a pain med for dogs/cats. i have an annual check up for them set up for next week, and plan to ask my vet if they have better records of the visit, but until then my curiosity is killing me! any ideas?

A: I have linked a few veterinary book references for you. It is used as a pain killer in birds.
It is not licensed for avian use but that statement alone is a bit misleading. This is called “off -label” use. Vets routinely use drugs “off-label” as there are very few that are actually licensed for exotics. If they could not use off-label drugs their treatment choices would be very limited.

Q: How much marijuana and cocaine did Obama do was he an addict and has he kicked the habit?
Since his old drug buddy from high school was on TV after he got out of prison for dealing drugs. It was hushed up all at once and some say Obama paid him off for silence about his drug habit. I also wonder if Obama was also a dealer you know the old saying birds of a feather flock together.

A: You think Obama and President Bush sit around and snort lines together?

Q: Why does it feel like tiny things or bugs are crawling all over me?
So after months of not washing my comforter (two months of which the comforter wasn’t moved or slept in), I come home and begin to feel things crawling up and down my scalp, legs, thighs, arms, armpits, neck, hands (fingers too), chest, feet, pubic area, back, face (especially in the nose and eyebrows), basically everywhere. I’ve noticed that it’s usually only in the areas with hair. These sensations last the entire day, but they worsen while I’m in bed. It does not matter whether the blanket is covering the area or not, it will still feel like something is crawling. When I check, I am not able to see anything, even when I stare at the area for a while.
This sensation is not a whole mass, or army of bugs. It is only one to a few things crawling in an area or in different parts of the body. However, it’s constant (every second, every minute, etc.)
A few days afterwards, I vacuum the carpet, I wash my comforter, bed sheet, pillow covers, pajamas, some things I’ve been in contact with, and take a really long hot shower, wash my hair, use body wash, etc. I go to bed and I can still feel the crawling.

My parents are too cheap to have me see a doctor or dermatologist or neurologist (they’re expensive, and sometimes they don’t help at all, but charge you $75 for a visit, and what with gas prices..)
I have browsed the internet and this site and I don’t know what my exact problem could be. Possible ones:
- Parasites (bird mites, dust mites, eggs, etc.)
- Something that could develop into a rash later on
- Nerves (causing my hair to stand on end, or send signals of bugs or crawling sensations?)
- My arm hair, leg hair rising up and down (but not because of the wind)

No, this is not restless leg syndrome.
No, I do not think it is lice or bed bugs, otherwise they would be visible.
No, I am not on drugs.
I don’t think this is dry skin, I put lotion on my entire body and could still feel the crawling.
No, I am not imagining this or that it only occurs when I think about it. It happens 24/7, when I am doing other things and not entirely aware of my body.

If anyone could please direct me to some websites that might help me diagnose my problem, or is detailed about one of the possible ones (especially about my hair, I’m starting to think that it’s regarding my body hair, and what causes this?). I have used a number of search terms, and I’m not sure what this could be, or if it’s contagious.
Or if you’re positive you know what I have, please tell me. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

A: thats gross. probably the “bed bugs” they can be any number of microscopic insects. you will have to see a dermatologist to get it fixed. washing or cleaning things wont help because they have probably laid eggs on you and these will just hatch and they will continue the bug-walking-feeling. or have you been smoking meth? if you have then thats probably it

Q: We’re 66. Would YOU Raise this Eleven Yr Old ?
My daughter was on hard drugs for 2 yrs after a breakup and we kept my grandson. He appears extremely happy and snuggly but if you ground him or something he sometimes damages or breaks something of value. Now she’s SOBER for 4 months but had been crying to get him back. School is going to begin (6th grade) and she has SECRETLY come back to town with him as if to give him back to us. He missed her a lot. When he was here we were SO tired, he scraped a tv stand badly w/a knife, smashed my vintage drinking glass in the yard, cut the new but cheap sofa downstairs with scissors a lot, “borrowed” a container of my husbands collectible coins,
removed the eyes from a vintage concrete bird we put in the yard and told my husband to “shut up.” His grades went down, he was kicked out of Gifted class, smarted off to the busdriver and always said, “I’m bored” to me since we live in a remote location. He IS very sweet in spite of all of this and charismatic. How or what do I say when his mother calls me and says, “will you take him back for sixth grade? I’m broke” or something.
She only wants him in summer so she won’t have to get up for the bus or deal with his teachers and grades. When we have him, she calls one to six times a day and it drives us mad, telling him how much she loves and misses him while she cavorts with her nutty friends and drives around. She is 43.
@@@ WHAT MAKES THIS SUPER HARD IS THAT SHE HAS NOT PAID RENT FOR YEARS. SHE ONLY STAYS WITH VARIOUS FRIENDS FOR A FEW MONTHS THEN LEAVES FOR THE NEXT FREE SOFA. SO IT IS A CRAZY LIFESTYLE FOR MY GS. IF SHE HAD A HOUSE OR APT THEN IT WOULD BE SO MUCH EASIER FOR US TO SAY , “FORGET IT.” SHE STAYS IN EACH TOWN OR STATE ABOUT 3 MOS THEN LEAVES. SUPER MANIC OR RESTLESS. UNSTABLE.

A: this is a tough situation. she can’t take care of him, unless you want him going to a foster home, i would say you guys stick with him. punish him when you have to, don’t let him run you guys, he’s 11.

Q: Bad case(s) of giardia in an 8 y/o moluccan cockatoo?
Well, I’m not too sure on how he got it.. either from a dog visiting our home or from mice we found in our basement (may have gotten into his food unnoticed). either way, my cockatoo got giardia. He has been rigorously treated, to the point where we were paying vet techs to come out and help administer the drug(s). Apparently he has come down with it again. We were advised by our vet that the parasite can “hide” in their air sacs (located throughout the body), and during a time of stress then reemerge. He (the cockatoo) is now on an antibiotic.
My mother (the person who is taking care of the bird while I am away at college) just called me and informed me if he cannot be cured she will put him down. Obviously i am upset (as is she, she is not heartless… she just “cannot deal” with seeing the parrot pulling his feathers out, and so upset and miserable). Is this really “fair”?
I don’t want to make the bird SUFFER, abut I also don’t have MILLIONS of dollars to continue treating him in this mannor. I *am* a college student, and I have already spent MORE on this issue than on my tuition this semister (and my tuition isn’t cheap either. . . .). I don’t believe I could give the bird to a shelter, as giardia is a parasite that is easily transferred from bird to bird. I just want to know if there is hope left for my poor bird.
I.E: is there anyone out there who has had a large parrot infected with giardia, where the parrot has gotten over it and returned to their normal selves?

A: Euthanasia is entirely unwarranted in this situation. I understand your frustration, but understand that your bird’s giardia infection may never go away completely. You may have to treat him on and off over the course of his lifetime. If you think this is going to be a problem, then you should start looking into all your options for placing him into a new home. Don’t rule out rescues without actually contacting them. They often take in birds with medical conditions as that’s a large percentage of birds that lose their homes. They regularly work with an avian vet, and have a staff that can medicate and monitor the bird.

I would at least try contacting a few of them, and asking if they can help or if they know of someone who can. I can think of two off the top of my head, one in the west and one in the east. They are the Gabriel Foundation and Phoenix Landing, respectively. You can find them on line by Googling them.

Wow this place reeks of car exhaust way worse than LA. Someone told me that part of the smell is all the methane labs. The stench is pretty consistent regardless of the neighborhood. Is Prescott full of drug labs also? I just need a day out of the stench.

Q: Whats the better anti-viral to buy in case bird-flu starts spreading person to person. Relenza or Tamiflu?
The only 2 anti-virals that work against the bird flu virus. Relenza and Tamiflu needed to be taken early on after getting infected. I’m going to be travelling and want to have a dose of the drug prior to leaving the country. I want to know which one is better?

A: In a recent study a doctor was pretty disappointed with tamiflu’s performance.

Have a read: http://newsdemand.info/truth-about-tamiflu/

A friend.

Q: Give Me a Break! Do you Buy all this stuff???????
Just imagine people carrying feeder bottles in the planes and then mixing them in the planes and then exploding the planes to get what????
Can someone be so stupid to buy such stories. This is like believing:
1) WTC collapsed with complete melting of its steel by a plane fire
2) OBL having free time and media team to make a video every other minute and sneding this From Tora Bora to Washington DC via Kabul, Islamabad, Qattar etc
3) Believing that anthrax bugs flew direct, non stop to Washington DC
4) Bird Flu might get into you through mutation (Well they can become elephants through mutation too)
5) SARS really occured and killed 20 elderly people in Canda due to pneuomona!
6) Princes Di was not killed becuase of her intention to mary a Muslim
7) Bush has an IQ of 100 or more
Blair can do any thing but licking Bush boots
9) Pentagon released OBL tape was not fake and had no blunders
10) Zionists do not control USA Govt. press, courts, business, porno, drugs, etc. etc.

A: Where do you get such wisdom?

Q: Do you think that the swine flu virus was genetically engineered to boost sales of drug companies.?
I think the virus could have been genetically-engineered as a form of bio-weaponry this is because swine flu first occurred in Mexico where pigs and birds are rarely raised together so it could be possible that the rare combination of more than two different flu viruses were genetically-engineered to boost the sales of drug companies. Developed countries can buy medicine from drug companies to get treatment but under developed countires are doomed if i say so my self. !!!!

A: probably the governments capable of anything probably so they can pay back all the money they have spent on nothing leaving the economy like it is it was also prob exagerated so we forget or to distract us from the mess there making of the economy they cant be arsed pickin up a country like japan there to busy thinking what animal to blame a virus on next when they want to cover somrthing up and i’m not talking about the mexican government i’m on about america and england conspiring they probably paid the mexican government off i mean where is all our money we’v paid in tax thats why the economy is in trouble all polotitions get an allowance a large one they dont pay no tax our prime minister is more powerful than the queen do not underestimate the government how do you think we got out of the recession in the 80’s they went to the bank of england and printed the money they had wasted to put it back prob took a extra allowance for themselves tax free

Q: im so proud! but still need help with bird?
i can tell my bird is getting to really trust me ever since i bought millet for him. he loves it! its like his drug or something. he still cant get on my hand but ive been trying to put it out farther and stick my other hand in front so that if he wanted it bad enough he would have to get on my hand. i think that may work but if there is anything else that will do better or will work faster its all open for u!!! please!!! any suggestions will help!! oh yeah one more thing- he was biting but ever since i got the treat, hes kind of stopped to try.
hehe yeah but i kinda have a rule about giving him millet- if he runs away from my hand or doesnt take it he misses his chance to get his treat. i dont just hold it there forever untill he takes a bite or just leave it in his cage. if i did that he would get really fat!!! lol

A: You never mentioned what kind of bird you have.
You are working with the basics of positive reinforcement training in getting him hand trained, but you could do some more research to learn how to get better results.

Try reading this and this will help you understand a little better. It’s pretty basic:

http://exoticpets.about.com/od/behavior/a/birdtraining.htm

As far as his regular diet is concerned, you didn’t really go into it, but I have some links that might get you on a better track with feeding him healthy food. Try looking at some of these questions I’ve answered before:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgFfJL.TwIKcadGRn8zZ_STsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20070919080657AAhgoVa&show=7#profile-info-1d1c83b7bc1c1a763211df37da7e4d9aaa

Those ought to get you started on a happy, healthy and well trained little guy. Good luck with him.

Q: what does this necklace symbolize . pictures.?
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b71/jusstAlittlegirl/swallowsnecklace.jpg

ive heard this necklace symbolizes drugs but im not sure, i found this picture of it , my friend wants to buy it but i dont know what it means? if its just a bird or drug related?

A: Its a Barn Swallow, done in clasic tattoo style….here is a link to some more info on what it symbolizes.

Q: Y were the Experts working the the Mass Media blind about the history of Donald Rumsfeld & his Bird Flu gift?
Posted: May 9, 2004

Aspartame is an additive found in diet soft drinks and over 5,000 foods, drugs and medicine. It was approved in 1983 for use in carbonated beverages.

In reality, aspartame is a drug, not an additive. It interacts with other drugs, has a synergistic and additive effect with MSG, and is a chemical hyper-sensitization agent. Dr. John Olney, who founded the field of neuoscience called excitotoxicity, attempted to stop the approval of aspartame with Attorney James Turner back in 1996. The FDA’s own toxicologist, Dr. Adrian Gross told Congress that without a shadow of a doubt, aspartame can cause brain tumors and brain cancer and violated the Delaney Amendment which forbids putting anything in food that is known to cause Cancer.

Dr. Ralph Walton, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry, Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine has written of the behavioral and psychiatric problems triggered by aspartame-caused depletion of serotonin.

Aspartame causes headache, memory loss, seizures, vision loss, coma and cancer. It worsens or mimics the symptoms of such diseases and conditions as fibromyalgia, MS, lupus, ADD, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, chronic fatigue and depression. Further dangers highlighted is that aspartame liberates free methyl alcohol. The resulting chronic methanol poisoning affects the dopamine system of the brain causing addiction. Methanol, or wood alcohol, constitutes one third of the aspartame molecule and is classified as a severe metabolic poison and narcotic.

The history of aspartame and its approval has a political history as well as a scientific one. According to Dr. Martini,

“When Donald Rumsfeld was CEO of Searle, that conglomerate manufactured aspartame. For 16 years the FDA refused to approve it, not only because its not safe but because they wanted the company indicted for fraud. Both U.S. Prosecutors hired on with the defense team and the statute of limitations expired. They were Sam Skinner and William Conlon. Skinner went on to become Secretary of Transportation squelching the cries of the pilots who were now having seizures on this seizure triggering drug, aspartame, and then Chief of Staff under President Bush’s father. Some of these people reach high places. Even Supreme Justice Clarence Thomas is a former Monsanto attorney. (Monsanto bought Searle in 1985, and sold it a few years ago). When Ashcroft became Attorney General, Thompson from King and Spalding Attorneys (another former Monsanto attorney) became deputy under Ashcroft. (Attorneys for NutraSweet and Coke).

A: I always knew that stuff was poison !

Q: Anybody here like birds?
1…..A small boy walks into a drug store and spots the druggist on a ladder putting merchandise onto a shelf, he pulls on the druggist’s leg and asks, “hey mister, can I buy some bird seed”, the druggist says, “get away kid, I am busy”! Three day later same situation, pulls on the druggist’s pants leg and says, “Hey mister can I buy some bird seed, Hey I told you leave me alone, I am busy kid! Week later the kid comes in and pulls on his pants leg again, and says, “hey mister can I buy a condom? This time the druggist stops what he is doing and comes down from the ladder and asks the kid, “what do you want a condom for? “To put over your head you big P****, my bird died yesterday!

2…..Dear Mrs. Fenton,
Over the past six months, your husband, Mr. Bill Fenton has been causing
quite a commotion in our store. We cannot tolerate this type of behavior and
have considered banning the entire family from shopping in any of our stores.
We have documented all incidents on our video surveillance equipment.
Three of our clerks are attending counseling from the trouble your
husband has caused. All complaints against Mr. Fenton have been compiled
and are listed below.
Mr. Wally Underpants
President and CEO of Wal-Mart Complaint Department
MEMO
while his spouse is shopping:
1. June 15: Took 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in people’s
carts when they weren’t looking.
2. July 2: Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute
intervals.
3. July 7: Made a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to the restrooms.
4. July 19: Walked up to an employee and told her in an official tone, ‘Code
3′ in housewares….. and watched what happened.
5. August 4: Went to the Service Desk and asked to put a bag of M&M’s on
layaway.
6. September 14: Moved a ‘CAUTION – WET FLOOR’ sign to a carpeted area.
12. December 6: In the auto department, practiced his “Madonna look” using
different size funnels.
13. December 18: Hid in a clothing rack and when people browse through,
yelled “PICK ME!” “PICK ME!”
14. December 21: When an announcement came over the loud speaker, he assumes
the fetal position and screams “NO! NO! It’s those voices again!!!!”
(And; last, but not least!)
15. December 23: Went into a fitting room, shut the door and waited a while;
then, yelled, very loudly, “There is no toilet paper in here!”

3…..A Mafia godfather finds out that his bookkeeper has cheated him out of ten million bucks.
His bookkeeper is deaf.
That was the reason he got the job in the first place. It was assumed that a deaf bookkeeper would not hear anything that he might have to testify about in court.
When the godfather goes to confront the bookkeeper about his missing $10 million, he brings along his attorney, who knows sign language.
The godfather tells the lawyer, “Ask him where the 10 million bucks he embezzled from me is.”
The attorney, using sign language, asks the bookkeeper where the money is.
The bookkeeper signs back, “I don’t know what you are talking about.”
The attorney tells the godfather, “He says he doesn’t know what you’re talking about.”
The godfather pulls out a pistol, puts it to the bookkeeper’s temple, and says, “Ask him again!”
The attorney signs to the bookkeeper, “He’ll kill you if you don’t tell him!”
The bookkeeper signs back, “OK! You win! The money is in a brown briefcase, buried behind the shed in my cousin Enzo’s backyard in Queens!”
The godfather asks the attorney, “Well, what’d he say?”
The attorney replies, “He says you don’t have the guts to pull the trigger.”

A: awww that poor kid lol

Q: Did you have a pet when you were small? (question)?
A small boy walks into a drug store and spots the druggist on a ladder putting merchandise onto a shelf, he pulls on the druggist’s leg and asks, “hey mister, can I buy some bird seed”, the druggist says, “get away kid, I am busy”!
A: LOL

Need a pretty big condom to go over a guys head

Q: You know the drill, which one do you like?
1.) A man limps into a bar with a cane and alligator. The bartender stops him and says “Hold on a second here – you can’t bring that animal in here, they aren’t allowed!” So the man says, “But my gator here does a really cool trick…”
The bartender says “Well then, lets see!” So the man whips out his **** and shoves it in the gators mouth. He then takes his cane and starts bashing the gator in the head with it. A crowd gathers around and everyone is astonished when he pulls out his penis without a single scratch.
He looks around at the crowd and says, “Does anyone else want to try?” An old lady raises her hand and says…”Sure, but don’t hit me with that stick.”

Q: Anyone else feel for Cereal Cartoon Characters’ Rights?
I feel that Cereal-Advertising Cartoon Characters are very abused.
Silly Rabbit – Why can’t the dumb brats just give him one cup of yogurt?
Lucky – Do those kids realize that the cereal they are trying to steal is Lucky’s ONLY FOOD. If they take it, he’s gonna die. They can just go to the store and buy there own dang cereal.
Cookie Crisp Dog – Just give him some dang cereal! Forcing him to hurt himself just trying to eat food is cruel! And what happened to his fatty cousin dog? Now its some skinny gray one!

And we all know that the Coco Puffs Bird represents drug addiction.
FIGHT THE POWER!

A: I know! They teach these kids to share and we see these greedy bastards stealing food from the poor rabbit. At least that Tiger dude encourages sports stuff…

Q: would you support this idea? killing 2 birds with 1stone?
i work i pay taxes. and i am sickened by the amount of tax dollars spent to fund welfair for those who refuse to get off their butts and help them selves.
I have no problem with helping some one that has a disability or has found themselves out of a job. however, i think the people who make a career living off of state aid should be made to do something with their life. I personally know 3 families who receive welfair one of which is due to a legle battle over a work comp issue. the man was a working part in the community and was injured and cannot do the job he has known for the past 10 years. returning to school to get a degree in a field that he will be able to do and make as much if not more.
the other two families have made a career out of state aid. both have educations where they could go and find jobs that would allow them to make a decent living and be a productive part of socity. but because of life style choose not to do so.
I think that if on welfair people should be subject to drug screening. whenever they go to the dr or emergency room for any reason they should be drug tested. if tested positive for a substance not perscribed then the state should be notified and their welfair be stopped.
as a taxpayer i would rather pay 200 bucks to weed out the drug abusers(no pun intended with weed). and all the drug abusiers can figure out how to buy their drugs with out my or any other honest taxpayers money. and the state buget would swell with the positive cash flow from cutting its welfair recipiant list . I have to submit to random drug testing to earn my money. I think they should have to do the same to get it for nothing.

A: I am all in favor of random drug testing of welfare recipients. I work for the government, and I get paid with peoples tax dollars. I am subject to random and yearly drug tests. If I were to fail, I would be fired. It’s just that simple. Yet, you have people who don’t work, and get their money the same way (tax payers), why should they be exempt? If they fail, off welfare you go. Why should we pay for those who participate in illegal activities with our money? They are depressed? Who the hell isn’t from one time or another? They grew up poor? So did a lot of us. They are in crappy neighborhoods? Stop inviting the drug dealers in by buying from them. I think not only would this clean up the system, it would clean up the streets as well.

Q: why does society tolerate double standards about public activities?
In a lot of places it seems to be a social embarrassment to busk for ‘spare change’, but it’s perfectly ok to drive down the street in an expensive import sports car with the windows down and the stereo blasting hip-hop/rap at decible levels sufficiently high enough to kill small birds and animals …and support the car habit with illicit drug sales to minors.

A: is there a correlation between the acts you mention? how about waging war for oil, but banning abortion. marijuana is classified as a mild euphoric, yet is illegal. tobacco products are known carcinogens yet are okay if you pay the tax on them. need i mention alcohol?

Q: Was Donald Rumsfeld just doing his best to defend Americans or steal from poor Americans? Did Bird Flu away?
Wikipedia

“..From 1977 to 1985 Rumsfeld served as Chief Executive Officer, President, and then Chairman of G.D. Searle & Company, a worldwide pharmaceutical company based in Skokie, Illinois, whose products included, among others, Metamucil, Dramamine, and the oral contraceptive pill Enovid. During his tenure at Searle, Rumsfeld led the company’s financial turnaround that in turn earned him awards as the Outstanding Chief Executive Officer in the Pharmaceutical Industry from the Wall Street Transcript (1980) and Financial World (1981). Rumsfeld is believed to have earned around $12 million from Searle’s sale to Monsanto.

It was under Rumsfeld that Searle got the Food and Drug Administration’s approval for the controversial artificial sweetener, aspartame, which it marketed as NutraSweet….”

A: Rumsfeld serves his own interest, now and then.

Q: What’s bugging me and my new puppy?
3 yrs ago I got a couch from a garage sale, and have been suffering ever since.Could this be the culprit of my problem? I feel itching, tickling, movement on my scalp and I can pull a hair out at the root and just barely see something tiny, like a nit. I have never seen a bug,so this is microscopic,Definetely not lice. At other times I see what almost looks like a hairlike worm attatched to the hairshaft,it is almost invisible and does notseem to move. I have also noticed splits in the hairshaft.Just recently got a new puppy and she has what looks like dozens of tiny white specks in her dark fur that look like lint or dry skin flakes, but it isn’t dry skin. I have tried many things to cure this, even tho I don’t know what it is-chiggars,mites(bird-rat),scabies,…Do threadworms infest a persons scalp? I have seen my Dr. for this and was prescribed drugs because she thought I had a mental or hormonal issue, because there is no visible evidence of bugs.I would appreciate any info on this.SJ

A: Trash the couch. Do a thorough cleaning of your house. If you’re lucky, it was something on the couch itself, and not something like bugs that could spread. See a dermatologist instead of a regular doctor should symptoms persist.

Also, if you even mention bugs to your doctor, they’ll probably immediately diagnose you with delusional parasitosis.

Good luck!

Q: What should I do about this ****** at my school!?!?!?!?
I’ve been telling kids at my school that i am selling some stuff at my house this weekend and one of them did something that has made me pissed. He posted my address on Craigslist and said that my birds and dogs were for sale and that we had guns and drugs to sell in our house! None of which is true! Tommorrow, I plan to go to my school and blindside this kid with a punch to the face and then beat him senseless (away from the teachers of course). What would you do?
A guy came to my house and actually asked me for my birds! I am going through Hell right now and my parents are angry at me!

A: lol!!!! im sorry but thats funny. i wouldnt beat him up but i would cuss him out in front of all his friends

Q: What should I do about this A-hole at my school!?!?!?!?
I’ve been telling kids at my school that i am selling some stuff at my house this weekend and one of them did something that has made me pissed. He posted my address on Craigslist and said that my birds and dogs were for sale and that we had guns and drugs to sell in our house! None of which is true! Tommorrow, I plan to go to my school and blindside this kid with a punch to the face and then beat him senseless (away from the teachers of course). What would you do?
A guy actually came from Baltimore and asked us to show him my birds! My parents are angry with me and I am going through h*** right now

A: DO NOT punch him, or beat the sh!t out of him. You could get suspended, expelled, or incarcerated, as that is assault, and you don’t want to go to prison for something HE did. You have to be smarter than that. You need to confront him about this, but do it in a resposible way; be sure to maintain your decorum when you do confront him. I know it’ll be tempting to sock him and knock the living daylight out of him, but you have to think about what might happen if you do punch him. You should not sink to his level. You need to just confront him about this.

Q: Have you ever been the victim of other’s people’s delusions, or faked delusions? Or, have you ever hoped?
desperately, you were delusional, or wrong?
High School, prepared for any eventuality, learned to sew, cook, type, take shorthand. If I married, or not, if I worked, or if I went to college, I could work &earn money while going. I married. I worked.Yrs later, same thing. Returned to college when the children became older. I was going to prepare to work and make money, all I could, so hubby could get easier, higher paying work, more ed., and kids could go to college. Have nice “things’ finally. Everything went to HIAHB. graduated others had other ideas. Things bad as they can get. I was not using drugs, notn trouble with the law. I reported an attorney to the bar assoc, and reported w crimes. Wow. Things went bad.The DELUSIOn. cant be happening. I will get a job, will not lose everything. lost everything but dtr, son, & a few items of sentimental value to me. My poor son, whom I loved dearly, had to go into the Navy to get worThiswas during that Gulf mess.He ended up on a ship the Gulf. Poor guy. He also had a wreck and had to have blood transfusions in San Diego. This was so unfair. All because I reported an attorney? Then the kids didn’t get to go to college. Then I had to get work, more desperate. Turned to family, churches, SocialServices, 12 attorneys , no help. No work.Kept thinking people cannot be this cruel & heartless.
A: Too long and not sure of your question.

Q: marijuana, cannabis, hemp are you for or against the cultivation of these “drug” plants?
before you answer this question here are a few facts that you may not know;
1]cannabis and hemp are the same.marijuana was the mexican name given to cannabis
2]cannabis was first cultivated in china around 4000bc
just to let you all know i dont use this stuff.never have done never will do,but i dont mind people smoking it for themselves.this is just a question out of curiosity

A: dont mind as long as there not living next door,,,,,,,,

Q: MEPS, ADHD, Getting my congressman’s help and failing the urinalysis moral waiver questions.?
Here is my story sorry it is so long but please help…

I am a currently a 25 year old male college grad and on Nov 07 I went to the Minneapolis MEPS to join the Minnesota National Guard. Everything went fine and I oathed in. Two weeks later I received a letter saying I failed my urinalysis! I have never done any illegal drugs and the only thing on my record is a minor consumption and two speeding tickets when I was 16. Turns out it was because of medication I was on for ADD. I was diagnosed when I was very young but I dont think I ever really needed it but I would fill a prescription when I had intense study times like finals in college and what not. I had no idea this would be a problem. I was naive to think since it was legal it would be OK. I didn’t tell meps just to avoid some paperwork and it bit me in the ass. I was told to wait a year and I did because I wanted to finish my degree.

After a year I got a medical waiver for the medication I was on which was Dexedrine; I gave them all my medical records and a letter from my doctor stating I was fine without the meds. I went to sign up again and they said that I couldn’t because I now needed a moral waiver for failing the drug test. Sooooo I got together letters of recommendation from my people stating I had good moral character one was from my neighbor who is a full bird colonel and the other from my advisor from my college. I then spoke over the phone with a Major at National Guard Bureau who in turn spoke to my neighbor and advisor, the Major then requested my waiver be approved. Months later they denied my moral waiver mainly because of the situation with recruiting and only people with spotless records could get in. It has been a year and since then I have been working at an office equipment dealer as an outside sales rep pounding the phones, it is a very demanding job so to make things a little easier I filled another prescription for dexedrine thinking I would never try to join again. The other day I was taking a break and decided to contact my congressman and see if there was anything he could do. I did it mainly as a curiosity and for some closure that I did everything I could. To my surprise they said they could help me mainly because my problems with signing up were due to something that wasn’t illegal. So my concern now is that I am on the medication again after being off of it for 2 years and If I go to MEPS and re-physical should I tell them about the meds? I was thinking that to their knowledge I have not been on the meds since late 07. They have all of my medical records since the day I was born until Jan 09′ and nothing from this last year. My question is should I tell them I am back on the meds?

Also does anyone know of the chances the congressman will help me get in???

Thanks for your help!
Thanks, but to add to this I due plan on stopping the meds once again, I dont need them to function and I have proven that. Before I go to MEPS again I will stop the medication with plenty of time so this does not happen again!

A: Oh boy, what a mess you got there.

Sorry to say, but where you went wrong was in not telling MEPS that you were currently on meds for ADHD.

Secondly, going back on them again. You will need to wait a year from the time you are OFF them before you will be eligible to enlist. This is aside from the moral waiver issue, if someone can help you with that issue.

I was on these meds as a kid once, too. And it can be tempting to want to go back on them again. You know that you are working harder to stay focused than most people have to. You’d like to have that edge back. But if you want to get into the military, you’re going to have to learn to excel without that extra edge. It can be done.

You have to wait out the year since you’ve been on them. That’s the guideline. No way around it. (It’s no longer an automatic DQ, apparently they’ve studied recruits with ADD and most adjust okay as long as they’ve done alright for a few years without any meds.)

Q: Have you ever given drugs to a bird to see what happens?
What does happen?
Please write with many details.

A: um, cruelty towards animals much?

Q: Does bird man still sell drugs even though hes a multi millionaire?
Or does he at least drop drugs on his blocks for people to sell and he gets profit or he gets all his money legally
Just curious I Want to write a school report on famous rappers who talk about selling drugs if its a front or reality not that its anything to be proud of

A: He more than likely does although I’m sure he doesn’t need the extra money.

Q: There is a suspicious bird in my tree. I think it is on drugs and I live close to a school. What should I do?
It is a drug free zone.

A: I just watched a special on TV about that, they become very disoriented when on drugs. Whatever you do stay out of their way. BE CAREFUL!

Q: is the song “the bird and the worm” about drugs?
by the used, of course.

A: pretty stupid song, if you ask me.

Q: Big Bird on drugs…..?
Okay…why is it that Big Bird was the only character on Sesame Street that saw Mr. Snuffleupagus? And whenever he saw him there was a cloud of smoke…I think Big Bird smoked weed and saw him in his “illusions”…what’s your take?

A: You know you’re right…plus the other bad things about sesame street

Watch, laugh and enjoy homie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUmYGLIubho

Q: Does the Co-Co Puffs bird give you the impression that he is selling drugs, not cereal?
I’M COO COO FOR CO-CO PUFFS! *jumps around acting like a maniac*

A: haha
Yeah

A friend.

Q: What prophylactic measures are available for Bird Flu before one travels to China?
Are there drugs that can be taken to protect oneself, or are existing measures only curative?

Do you require prescriptions to use any available medicines?

A: There is no need for anything at this point unless you are going to be in contact with lots of live or dead birds. I travel to China very often and just use common sense. The virus is not airborne so you can’t just catch it by walking around.
Wash your hands very often and don’t eat undercooked poultry

Q: do you think we should prepare for bird flu?what should we do?
i am very cocerned about the bird flu. iam worried we willnot have food drugs or water. should we be stocking up?

A: No I would not panic. You must remember scare tactics is how the bush administration works in order to make money. Thousands if not billions of dollars are being made buy the drug tamiflu with peolpe as frightened as your self,do not fall for it.I dont know how old you are,but cast your mind back to SARS, nothing happened. Just over 100 ppeople have died of this so called bird flu through out the world, how many people die of aids, cancer, diabeties, meningitis. IF YOU ARE WORRIED stock up, build up your immune system for the winter,do what you feel you should….. but do not worry I will give you the name of a web site that will help you understand the workings of the so called Bird Flu …BUT you must keep an open mind about this and only believe what you feel is right www.david icke.com good luck and dont worry.

Q: Does anyone remember a video against drug use starring a blue bird? or blue eagle maybe? Its old.?
It’s a big blue bird or eagle (I think) that sings and dances, and talks bad about drug use. I watched it when I was very young (early 90’s) and he visits some girls in a dance studio. He talks to them about drugs. I don’t remember much. I vaguely remember something about a tail feather maybe? Not sure exactly.

A: Are you sure you weren’t on anything at the time?

♣

Q: How do you stop a raccoon from tearing down the suet bird feeder?
We have tried a commercial trap and it never came around. The first night that the trap was gone, it came back, TOOK DOWN the suet feeder, drug it across the yard, and tore it open.

A: Raccoons are pretty smart, but we were able to keep them out of the bird feeder by running a heavy wire between the house and a tree, and hanging the feeder from the wire, out in the open where the coons and squirrels could not reach it. It was actually rather funny watching them trying. The wire was about 6 feet above the ground.

Before that, the raccoons even took the hummingbird feeder, because they like sweet flavors, too! I would not want one as a pet because they have very sharp claws and teeth, and are not domesticated. They can carry rabies and parasites.

Possibly the raccoon did not go in your commercial trap, because it might have been trapped before (and released). Once it had this experience, it would be trap-shy forever, no matter how many goodies you put in the trap. People around here do trap-and-release and let the critters go in someone else’s neighborhood where they are then impossible to catch… The first poster’s idea of the .22 definitely works, though.

Q: small song bird with belly that was illuminated?
Serious answers only. This morning at 5:35 a.m. CST I saw a bird, small like a finch with yellow feathers with the never before seen, by me, stomach that was illuminated. I don’t drink nor do drugs. Does anyone know what bird this is? I did not have time to run into the house and get my camera.

A: would be useful if you told us where you live.

Q: Drugs for cats with high blood pressure?
I am looking for information on drugs used to treat cats (senior cats) with high blood pressure. My JulieBug is about 16 years old and was diagnosed with high blood pressure this past winter. She is currently taking Norvasc 1.25 mg twice aday. Her blood pressure caused retinal bleeding which led to partial blindness. Since being on Norvasc her bp has come down somewhat and the bleeding in the eyes is under control and is being reabsorbed resulting in some limited vision. There does not seem to be a drug for cats with high bp that my vet knows of, Norvasc is a human drug costing about $105 each month and is hard to control exact dosage, the pills are hard to split in half. I am not so concerned with the cost as I am with seeing that she gets the exact dosage. Does anyone know of a drug for cats with high bp? Any info appreciated.

A: Norvasc is amlodipine

this is the treatment of choice for primary hypertension in cats. there is no veterinary product (at least in the UK there is not)- cost wise however this is a good thing, as veterinary drugs tent to be at least double the price, sometimes 20-30 times the cost

is the cat on any other treatment for renal problems?

there are other things that may be useful depending on the initial cause of the blood pressure. however it is common that renal problems are the underlying issue here, and these are very difficult to deal with long term.

another class of drug is sometimes used in conjunction with amlodipine to reduce blood pressure and that is

diltiazem this works by relaxing the muscles in the walls of the arteries and can help reduce blood pressure

on a practical note with regard dosing you cat, you may be able to find a compounding pharmacy to produce a easier to dose preparation of amlodipine, possibly in capsules or in a meat flavoured paste

good luck, dealing with these old guys can be difficult

Q: Do plastic bags and catnip have the same effect on cats as drugs do for humans?

A: Plastic bags: The reason cats go bonkers over plastic bags is because they are made with starch and animals fats to make them biodegradable, and sprayed with an oil to keep them from sticking together. Yum!

Catnip: Not all cats are affected by catnip. Catnip is more like Red Bull than a drug for some cats, and more like a Chamomile tea for others. Some get hyper and silly and playful, others just mellow out.

“Drugs” is too non-specific when it comes to human reactions.

Q: Is catnip bad for cats?
I’ve heard that it is like cat drugs, and we all know that human drugs are bad for humans, so shouldn’t cat drugs be bad for cats? Or maybe it isn’t drugs–maybe they just like it?

A: its not a drug, its a stimulant… people just say its like a drug… the cat doesnt ingest it, it just likes the oils that the plant produces. Some cats have a spike of playfulness, some drool, some have a little zone out time and some it has no effect on at all… they just like it… No biggie and they dont get addicted to it… drugs are addiction things cat nip isnt addictive there fore its not a drug.

Q: is it possible for cats to get high on peppermint extract?
i heard that rubbing this extract on cats calms them and stops squabbles in multi-cat households, so i tried it, and all 4 of them passed out for at least 2 hours. is peppermint a drug for cats? have any of you tried this?

A: hahaha oh no! =)

how much did ya put on them?

maybe you did too much, nah i haven’t tried it, why did you do it in the first place?

Q: What to do for injured stray cats?
A stray cat drug itself into my yard. I noticed it sitting in front of a water bowl that i have sitting for my kittens. It looks like it’s back 2 legs were run over.

I fed the poor little thing and it didn’t meow or anything. It just stared at me. how do I help it?

A: The kitty needs a vet. If you can’t get it to a vet, call animal control or a shelter to come pick it up. He’s suffering terribly and must get to a vet.

Q: Do you think cats can get depressed?
My ginger cat Baz, who is always, even at 11 years old, happy and bouncy. For 2 weeks now he has seemed very low in spirits. I’ve taken him to the vets, who said he was fit and healthy, but offered to give him “cat Valium”. I don’t wanted a drug dependant cat but what else can I do?

A: I Think cats and all animals can get depressed my og gets depressed when it is left at home all day even though it can get out try giving the cat lots of attenion and treats and see if that helps i wouldn’t put my cat on drugs x

Q: Is Catnip a drug for cats?
Drugs for people make people happy but obviously it dont make em betta u ill. and apaarently catnip makes cats happy so does it have a drug in it? is it iligal and how od cats intake it (smoke tablets…) and 1 more thing, does it work on people? xxx

thanks xxxxxxxx

A: Catnip has been a popular stimulant for cats for a long time. Over the years, it has been found to illicit intensely pleasurable reactions in most, but not all, cats. Is part of the mint family. It grows as weed in parts in midwest U.S. and Canada. The active ingredient is nepetalactone, derived from the volatile oils which can be extracted from the plant. Catnip is very safe for cats, and there is no need for any concern regarding its safety.

Q: What will happento a human if they take 0.2cc of the drug for cats called Buprenex?

A: It’s a semi-synthetic opioid also used in humans. If you’re on this site much, you’ll see quite a few questions related to Suboxone and Buprenex.

Q: why do people giv catnip 2 their cats? do they like to watch them on drugs?
because it drugs them and makes them halucinate. and its acctually bad for them!
and yes it is bad to drug your cats just to watch them go crazy. i think that giving cats caffiene to watch them go crazy is bad. dont you ? what if someone hid drugs in your pillow to watch u hallucinate and go crazy? huh?

A: Obviously, they do like to watch them on drugs.
I don’t know of any evidence that catnip is harmful to cats, though.

Q: Is catnip a drug for cats?
If so is it safe, or can they overdose on it?

A: Yes, catnip is a drug for cats. It doesn’t hurt them. All they have to do is smell it, but most of the time they also eat it and they also like to roll around in it. They cannot overdose on it. They get only so high and the effect stops right there. However, you cannot predict how they will react to it. Sometimes they get a little (or a lot) wild. They CAN get aggressive on catnip, that effect WILL wear off. They may accidentally scratch you, but they don’t mean to. It makes them extremely playful, and you know that cats don’t usually play nice. Before actually feeding catnip, try a cat toy that is already well infused with it. That will give you a clue as to their reaction when they’ve ingested a whole bunch…lol. Some cats don’t like it (ignore it). Some don’t get high on it either. The effect is somewhat temporary, wears off in 20 minutes to an hour most of the time. You will find that they probably will not be interested in it again for a few hours after they’ve had some. Most kittens are not affected by catnip. Kittens may be interested in it, but may not react to it. Usually, cats aged six months or older are prone to catnip’s effect.
Auntie Kookoo

Q: CATNIP? A fun toy or drug for cats? ANSWER?
what do you think. i puchased Cat Nip today and i saw that cats adore it! but i got to thinking- it’s like drugs for people. they get so pumped. what do you think catnip is?
thank you ♥

A: lol, my family says, “kitty, you want your kitty weed” its so funny. now when we say it she looks up and meows. its so cute. i would think its both. i mean it smells like feet though, so i wonder if thats why cats like feet. its so wierd, but my cousins cat licks his feet n i think its nasty. well, well its cant be called a toy since they just roll around in it. plus if you put cat nip on a towl around its litter box it helps them get litter trained. but they get very addicted to it. most cats, like my friends, absoulutly hate catnip, but i mean she hates almost evrybody. well not me im like family. lol, well

i dont really think its a drug but hey, idk if it is or not

Q: What are the side effects of worming tablets for cats?
What effects do these drugs have on the cat?

A: If your cat is otherwise healthy, not much. The drugs involved ONLY kill worms that are harmful to the cat anyway. They may be a little ‘loose’ for a day or too, after the worms and their larvae have died, but they shouldn’t have any other effects.

Q: Does anyone know how drugs (crack in particular) affect cats?
About two months ago, I rescued a kitten from a crack house. No, I don’t use, but my ex-bf did, and the crack house was where he spent the majority of his time.

A litter of kittens was born in the house, and were fully exposed to crack smoke and who knows what other drugs. I was only able to rescue the one kitten, and quite honestly I’m already debating on finding her a new home…

I’ve raised three cats of my own, and have cared for dozens of other cats over the years, and this one is just… odd. Compared to every other kitten I’ve dealt with, she’s far more aggressive, is not gaining weight like she should (despite proper feeding), is the most clumsy kitten I’ve ever seen, compared to “normal” kittens it’s like she never sleeps… And the list goes on.

I suspect this is all because of the crack house, but since I’d never even been exposed to crack until my moron ex, I can’t say for sure. Even the vet wasn’t sure.

If anyone has any advice or info I’d be very grateful to hear it.

A: How long have you had her?

One of my friends had a few cats, in varying ages from ten weeks to four or five years; all of them, being indoor house cats, and having been born normally, were happy kitties. They ate properly, gained weight properly, and had the correct amount of balance (according to their vet). She adopted two kittens from a shelter, both littermates, who had come from a home over-run with drugs, and faced LOTS of traffic (meaning more than 5 or 6 people were always present). These two kittens were noisy, too skinny, and attacked everything within sight, hissing, biting, and scratching. They were also very clumsy; I watched the male try to jump one foot from the couch to the coffee table, and he smacked his little head on the glasstop and fell.

When taken to the vet, who is also a cat breeder, she said that while the kittens may have been exposed to hazardous smoke and even alcohol, that would not have effected their aggression, weight, or their vocalizing, but that being around so many people, doing loud things, or possible abuse, could cause it.. She also said that inbreeding could cause the “stupidity” (clumsiness). The vet suggested keeping a close eye on them for a while, to see if anything changed.

My friend did – both kittens eventually calmed down, but did better once removed from most of the other cats for a while. After tons of love, attention, and soft voices/quiet time, they began to gain weight normally, stopped being so vicious, and even started to purr more quietly. They stopped yowling into the night, became very friendly with the rest of the cats when re-exposed to them, and have even started to sleep in my friends bed with her and her husband.

All in all, it sounds like your rescued kitten just might need some time to adjust to the new surroundings. Just get her checked for worms, make sure her litterbox is always cleaned up (my cat Nermal STILL refuses to share), that water and food are always left out for her, and that she has plenty of space and quiet areas for her to retreat to. Oh, and don’t forget to pick her up and snuggle her! (Even if she bites and scratches now, you have to condition a cat to love being in your arms, so eventually, she’ll be a rag doll like Nermal.) Just keep her away from young children, and she’ll be fine within a few months Just in time to murder your Chrismas ornaments…

Q: Are cat grass and lemon grass the same?
I read that cats like lemon grass and when cats chew on those, they will be very “happy” and sleep soundly. Err… Sound a bit like those drugs for cats. So are cat grass same as lemon grass? Will I draw cats to my home or draw cats to follow me if I happen to purchase some and have held on to them and forgot to wash hands?

A: Actually cat grass has the latin name: Avena sativa Cats require grass as an addition to their diet and/or digestion. Sown like indoor cress, and growing almost as quickly, this will provide the greens they need.

Lemon grass is: Cymbopogon citratus-a half hardy herb
They also love: Nepeta–catmint.

Q: Will the United States Marines use drug sniffing house cats for hard duty in Afghanistan?

A: the real erudite would have something more asinine to ask but ok sure yes house cats

Q: Can you get a Prescription from your vet to buy medications online?
I have an elderly Jack Russell who is incontinent and needs Propalin Syrup. She also suffers from flea allergic dermatitis and just one flea bite will cause her to flare up and start ripping her hair out! As we have an outdoor cat, (although we treat them both for fleas) its impossible to stop her picking up flea bites.

The medications she needs for these conditions (Propalin Syrup, Prednicare and Synulox) are fearly expensive at the Vets and as we are on a low income we are struggling to afford them. I’ve found a website called Pet Dispensary where they sell the same drugs at a lower cost but you must provide a prescription. Would a vet be willing to do this? Plus, once you’d paid for postage etc would it be any cheaper than buying them from the Vets?

A: By law, a vet has to give you a prescription if you ask for it rather than fill the medication at the practice. Some vets may charge a fee for writing the prescription though. Many times, after the S&H, your vet may be cheaper than the online pharmacy. Also, many vets will price match an online pharmacy price.

Q: Did You Know Vets Prescription Charges?
Were scrapped in 2005? A lot of vets don’t publicise this when you visit. You are entitled to take a prescription and buy the medication elsewhere. Our vet charges £20 to look at Bob the feline aids cat, then another £20 for his medication which is available online at £0.05p per tablet, much cheaper. But like a lot of vets “forgets” to mention your right to a prescription instead of them dispensing the drug at a greater cost.
This right may end Oct 2008.

Please sign the petition at number 10 Downing Street!

http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/petprescription/

Deadline to sign up by: 08 August 2008 – Signatures: 7,597

A: of course they’re not going to mention it. some of those meds are their bread and butter when it comes to making money. vets lose money on certain other procedures (like spays) so have to make up the money somewhere else to offset the costs of running the clinic (like hiking up prices on vaccines or various meds).

vets here in the US can charge a fee at their discretion to write a script out for you if you are choosing to get it filled elsewhere. and if it’s something available at a human pharmacy for a significantly cheaper price, the drs at my clinic will often mention that and write out the script with no charge. to them, it’s more about the animal getting the necessary meds than anything else. (however, most people prefer the convenience of just getting it at the time rather than drive somewhere else for it anyway.) having said that, it really isn’t the vet’s job to tell you where his competition is, is it?. if you go to a grocer for produce, they wouldn’t tell you where else you can get that food instead for a lower cost, do they?

i think the vet should dispense the rx to the client for free if the animal has just been seen for the problem and the owner hasn’t walked out the door yet. but i can totally understand charging a fee if an owner calls up and asks for a script to be written out later – it takes time out of a clinic’s busy schedule to look up a client’s chart and examine it to determine if the request should be given, time that is now being taken from other clients.

Q: Cheap prices in the Lansing and surrounding areas to find Fancy Feast for cats?
Who would know where is the best store either drug store, discount store, etc. in the Lansing and surrounding areas that would offer Fancy Feast for cats at cheap prices? I’m looking to purchase both cans and the dry food.
Lansing, Michigan

A: There are quite a few places called “Lansing”. Which Lansing are you referring to?

Edit: Walmart should have the best prices for Fancy Feast in your area.

Q: My gorgeous girl hates moving. She hates her cat cage. She hates being in the car. Oh what to do?
She’ll be 6 years old in Jan (I’m moving in January as well). She’s only ever lived in 2 places. Every single time we go to the vet, she meows in her box in the car, so terrified and sad and my heart goes out to that little meow. The drive to the vet is only like 5 mins.

The first time we moved (approx 10mins drive away) she was so upset. She hid in the cupboard and wouldn’t come out for a week. She was scared and depressed. She did good after that though, she explored and fought a neighbours cat to defend her new territory.

Problem is, I’m moving again. 2 hours drive away. She’s be in a new place, and I’m flatting with 5 new people (new to her). She is scared of people she doesn’t know when they come over, and will get used to them if they’re quiet and gentle.
I know my friends, and they’ll be having a lot of parties, so I plan to shut her in my room while those are going on.. and introduce her to my friends slowly when we move in..

but how can I help her get used to the new place?
also how can I stop her from making that heart-breaking cry for the entire 2 hours of the car ride? i can’t drive to that! it makes me so sad when she’s upset.
Do you think something like feliway could help? Are there any homeopathic or synthetic drugs that you would recommend? Otherwise what should I do?

Also (slightly irrelevant) – I’ve got to find a new vet clinic for her. I’m a vet tech student and if I take her to the vet teaching hospital, then I get a 10% discount. What are your thoughts on this? I’m not so sure I want students (even though I’m one myself) dealing with my cat. Do you think I should pay more and take her to a private clinic in the area, or try the teaching hospital? (I know I can always change places if I don’t like it.) I’m referring to a yearly checkup and vaccinations, she is an otherwise healthy girl!

Thanks in advance
Ocimom –

whenever we have a lot of visitors at home at one time, she freaks out, she runs into my room. She feels comfortable staying there and sleeping on the bed until the people go away. I also keep her locked in the room at night with me, so she doesn’t go around destroying things. She is perfectly happy in there. If she doesn’t like people and freaks out – it IS the answer because it is comfortable for her and makes her feel safe.

I am not moving to another or getting rid of my cat. As I said – she hates new people and would freak out tremendously if she had to live with a bunch of strangers. I am determined to make this situation work – because it can, I am determined to make my cat feel comfortable. I am fully committed to the fact that when you get a pet you’ve signed on a responsibility to look after them for life! Not simply get rid of them when it’s not convinient for you anymore. I was looking for advice on how I can make it work for my cat in the current situation.

A: First off if you are trng for a Vet Tech you must be aware of the drug Ace for animals. It’s a sedative that makes them relax and usually puts them to sleep. It’s similiar to a valium in humans. I’ve used this many times with my animals and all went well. No stress whatsoever. Just don’t feed her the morning you leave or she could upchuck and get food caught in her throat.
You will have to be extremely carefully when you introduce her to your new flatmates. And watch the door. She will bolt if she sees the chance of escaping. That’s a natural reaction to cats.
Definitely keep her in your room for at least 2 wks with supervised visits to the rest of the house off and on thru out the day. But be careful she doesn’t see a hole as a hiding space and you can’t get her out. Get on her level and ck all spaces in the rooms to see if there is a spot she can get into that would make it extremely hard for you to get her out..
If you are in trng then you know the knowledge that students have. If you do not want students handling your cat, then take her to a non-teaching Vet care office. Or insist on the on call Vet to see her if you go to the teaching hospital. But you must do what you think is right by your cat. Do you want a student or a certified Vet looking after your kitty? That is you’re call. You have the experience in the schooling so you should know what to expect.
And last but not least, after your move make sure you give her plenty of TLC and company. Don’t party all the time and forget your cat. That wouldn’t be fair.

Q: Intermittent Explosive Disorder do you have it?
Have you ever gotten ticked off on the road and wanted to just pull along side of the drivers car and give him the finger or jerk him out of his car and want to punch him?

You might just have IED. That’s right… IED ladies and gentlemen don’t worry any longer about your family saying you need anger management, it’s not your fault! Go ahead and kick the cat, get angry, shoot that mormon who just cut you off, you have a disorder and it’s not your fault.
You don’t have a lack of self control you have a mental disorder that makes you get angry.

Simply take a new drug and it will make everything better… well you will get addicted to the drug but that can be counteracted very simply by using another drug.
Sure that drug has side effects but with this other drug that can be under control…

Special discount for convicted felons

I meant moron not Mormon ahahahahhaa…thats funny though.

A: I think I have that..I can simply add that to the list of things wrong with me!

At least I know what I can tell my attorney is wrong with me.

Q: Why did Barack Obama and Max Baucus cave into the pharmaceutical lobby?
THE INFLUENCE GAME: Drug lobby’s health care win

(AP) WASHINGTON – Chalk one up for the pharmaceutical lobby. The U.S. drug industry fended off price curbs and other hefty restrictions in President Barack Obama’s health care law even as it prepares for plenty of new business when an estimated 32 million uninsured Americans gain health coverage.

To be sure, the law also levies taxes and imposes other costs on pharmaceutical companies, leaving its final impact on the industry’s bottom line uncertain. A recent analysis by Goldman Sachs, the Wall Street firm, suggests the overhaul could mean “a manageable hit” of tens of billions of dollars over the coming decade while bolstering the value of drug-company stocks. Others expect profits, not losses, of the same magnitude.

Either way, pharmaceutical lobbyists won new federal policies they coveted and set a trajectory for long-term industry growth. Privately, several of them say their biggest triumph was heading off Democrats led by Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., who wanted even more money from their industry to finance the health care system’s expansion.

“Pharma came out of this better than anyone else,” said Ramsey Baghdadi, a Washington health policy analyst who projects a $30 billion, 10-year net gain for the industry. “I don’t see how they could have done much better.”

Costly brand-name biotech drugs won 12 years of protection against cheaper generic competitors, a boon for products that comprise 15 percent of pharmaceutical sales. The industry will have to provide 50 percent discounts beginning next year to Medicare beneficiaries in the “doughnut hole” gap in pharmaceutical coverage, but those price cuts plus gradually rising federal subsidies will mean more elderly people will purchase more drugs.

I am 26 years old, have a 2 year old boy, and a husband.

About 8 years ago I was involved in a car crash, but was really unwise about it and did not seek medical evaluations about it. (I was in shock and did not feel any pain at the time)

Since then I have maintained a chronic pain in my left neck/shoulder area. The pain alters forms from time to time: dull aches, sharp pains, burning, tingling, numbness, weakness, concentrated nerve pain deep in my muscles, shooting pains all the way down to my pinkie.

This pain strangely enough fluctuates in levels ranging from about a 4-5 on EXCELLENT days.. some days–stretches of time it can be up to a 9. When its 9 its excruciating. I do not have to be doing anything for my pain to be effecting me. Just sitting down hurts. Needless to say it makes it difficult to be productive around the house or be active with my child.

4 years ago I went to the doctor, and she took an xray and said that she saw evidence of arthritis in my spine. Shortly after that I lost the insurance, and since then could not afford to go back to her.

I went through this discount program clinic place, and have tried to get help through them. For some reason no doctors in this program will say that I have arthritis or will even acknowledge my pain as anything other than psychological. This is increasingly frustrating as I am unable to afford any other kinds of health programs right now, and cannot seek other opinions out side this system.

I have seen more than 5 doctors, taken countless xrays, mris, cat scans, even an EMG test.
(that EMG test was really questionable though as during the beginning of the test, they said that it seemed i was “borderline arthritic” but refused to accept this as they moved the probes around untill they got a normal reading)

Is it likely that programs like these (available to low income people) are unwilling to treat people with chronic- non life threatening conditions?

I am sick and tired of being treated like I am crazy for my pain.

These doctors say that I am “too young” to be experiencing this.

anyways, after weeks and weeks of unsuccessful PT, I tried a Chiropractor. He insisted that I get another Xray, and he said that he saw something wrong with my C6-C7 disc.

How can the Chiropractor and the previous doctor see something that these doctors do not?

The Chiropractor only helps short term, no actual healing going on there, just short term relief.

I am constantly stretching, obtaining therapeutic messages, use heating pads/patches, ice, menthol cream, sleep on a good bed, stay active, work on my posture, try to eat right, exercise, taking Tylenol/aspirin/neproxin does nothing for me. Nothing takes my pain away.

I am fearful that I am flagged as some sort of drug seeker or something, but medication is the last thing I want. If I could do some surgery, burn nerve endings, do some sort of numbing shot, some sort of localized specific nerve blocker, RATHER than a life long regimine of opoid medication, and take the problem away once and for all i would in a heartbeat.

Are any of the above treatments viable as a true long term relief?

Please thoughtful answers only
and thank you for reading all of this..
Please help!

A: yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes you are being treated very unfriendly for a real and painful condition. your story almost matches up perfectly with mine, FIBROMYALGIA. learn that word well. i had finally gotten a diagnosis in nov of 09. even knowing what it is, doctors arnt much of a help. they will still look at you crazy and some would rather watch u slit your wrists from the pressure of having too much pain or pop you full of antidepressants and sedatives too keep you from going crazy in pain, when what we all really need pain medication and pain therapy, because this pain is real. it seems almost sadistic how some of these doctors are treating honest but ill people like you and me. some doctors have made me feel so lost and hopeless that i gave up at one point, but then i realized with the right support, this is a condition you can fight and even conquer. just do as much as you can to learn about this condition and dont give up. best wishes

A: From your long question i have conclude that your pain become serious.you told that you have Arthritis.
Shoulder arthritis is less common than knee and hip arthritis, but when severe may require a joint replacement surgery.you have no money for that.you should try something different for your pain.i think you should have a therapy i mean physical therapy which is good for you.message and stretching is useful for you.have a therapy guide.cost you cheap.it will help you to come out of this problem soon. i recommend you a site good for therapy and it will save you from surgery.you should avoid surgery.pray for your health.you will soon get.

Q: Have you read this article about Nutro Dog Foods?
By Lisa Wade McCormick ConsumerAffairs.com

June 23, 2008
• RECALL LIST • Consumer Complaints
A series of mysterious illness and death dogs Nutro pet food. Scores of pet owners report their animals became ill while eating Nutro products, then recovered when they were switched to another brand.

At least six dogs have died in the past two months, according to an analysis of complaints to ConsumerAffairs.com. The company discounts the reports, saying they are isolated and unconfirmed; at least one Nutro employee, sickened by the company’s response, told us she resigned.

In related developments, ConsumerAffairs.com has learned:

• The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently investigated the April deaths of two dogs in Indiana . The FDA tested samples of the Nutro food those dogs ate, but did not find any toxins. No one, however, has tested the Nutro food the other dogs ate before they died;

• A pet nutrition specialist for Nutro confirmed she’s heard complaints about the company’s food making dogs and cats sick. She reported those concerns to her supervisor, but said they were ignored. She recently resigned;

• There is a shortage of some varieties of Nutro dog food. The company says this is a supply problem – not a safety or quality issue;

• Some consumers have sent their pets’ food to Nutro for testing. They have not received any results. Other pet owners plan to hire private labs to test their food and report their concerns to the FDA and the Animal Poison Control Center run by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).

The six dogs that recently died include two Italian Greyhounds in Indiana , a Beagle/Whippet mix in Pennsylvania , two German Shepherd puppies in North Carolina , and a Doberman Pinscher in Texas .

The dogs’ owners all say their pets were in good health and they’re convinced that Nutro’s food is somehow connected to their animals’ deaths. Those concerns are echoed by pet owners whose dogs and cats have recently become sick after eating the company’s food.

Nutro, however, defends its products and says the food is 100 percent safe.

But scores of pet owners across the country — including longtime Nutro customers — no longer feel safe feeding this brand of food to their dogs and cats.

A: I hadn’t heard of this, I don’t use this product but it is good to keep an eye on whats going on. Thank you for bringing it to peoples attention.

Q: where can I get prescription diabetes drugs cheap without prescription??
Hi everyone I am looking for a prescription only medication for diabetes called Lantus. I am wanting an aussie script for it. My cat has feline diabetes and if I buy a vial from my vet it costs me over $200.00 dollars. I am wanting to know if there is anyway I can get my hands on a vial for less??? Does anyone know a dodgy doctor on the mornington peninsula that would right a script or are there any web sites that you can buy medications through . I know this sounds dodgy but I want to try anything for my cat but money is an issue. Any help would be appreciated thanks

A: Hey, the stuff ain’t cheap. My long lasting costs me $200.00 also. You may be able to find a druggist that will give it to you without a prescription, but they charge even more. At least that has been my experience. You either get the stuff without a script and pay more, or go to the vet, get a script, and still pay a lot.

Q: With Copy Cat AZ laws being floated around what will AZ supporters say when INS transports costs outweigh?
what people claim is being leeched from us by illegal aliens? Also what’s going to happen when all these people have no choice but to work for the drug cartels and flood the border states with even more cheap Mexican drugs? The southwest will become an even bigger drug bowl …. this time with the lawns in dire need of a good cut.
Foghorn – Have you ever been to Latin America? I can name at least 5 countries of the top of my head where I can go tomorrow and I’m still alive in 6 months I’ll be worth at the every least half a million dollars. This is why people hate Americans who don’t travel. Everything they say about other countries is complete bullsh*t
Casy – I don’t believe that all illegal immigrants work landscaping jobs or pick drugs. A very small percentage of the Mexican population is involved in the drug trade but those who do are playing a very big part in the amount of drug use going on in the southwest right now; it isn’t right to blame it all on every illegal in the country. Too many Americans are crying against the Mexican drug industry meanwhile they themselves have a 24 year old junkie sniffing Mexican coke in their basements. I find it hypocritical.

A: The simple answer is secure the border and enforce the law. Problem solved.

Q: Should police be chasing after dogs and cats that are loose?
There is a new law here in Wabash that your pets must be on a leash. Even a cat. I think the police should be chasing molesters, drugs and speeders around the schools and parks. They have plenty to do but they arent doing it? The ASPCA should be going after the pets but then our town is too cheap.

A: Literally? No. But there are reasons to have pets leashed. I would rather have someone who can’t follow a simple ordinace get a citation than to have my child be hurt by a loose pet.

Q: is THICKIES and SCUZZIES obsession with celeb culture, like a cat having its nose rubbed in its own sh.it…..
…is this why so many of them clogging up the compulsory “bore you off of the dole” jobsearch courses, are humiliated by the prospect of having to get a [in comparison] low grade menial job, when compared to the luxurious, exciting celeb lifestyles like the people whose lives they obsess over?
dont you just know they’re gonna be fat and on tranquilizers or something much much worse just a few years down the line.

[thickie: the same as a numpty or a dimwit
scuzzy: a grubby looking reprobate who you just KNOW, would steal from you as soon as look at you, and is more than likely taking cheap and nasty drugs--the scuzzball..!]

A: thats about right.

Q: D R U G S – Mephedrone – MM CAT – Is it really that dangerous? Should it be banned?
Mephedrone is a plant food. But If consumed (illegal) it gives roughly the same effects as ecstasy / cocaine etc.

At the moment it’s like the cheapest and easiest drug of its kind to get hold of, because it’s not illegal to buy or sell it in the UK as plant food, only illegal to buy/sell for human consumption.

Do you really think it should be banned? Is it really that dangerous?
I know there’s been a few deaths by this drug so far, but only when mixed with other drugs, which most likey means herart attack.

I don’t see why they don’t find 1 drug that does all these stimulations and make it the safest as possible and make it Legal, and ban all the others, then no1 will need to keep breaking the laws with illegal drugs etc?

People are always playing with drugs, swapping chemicals from Illegal drugs, to make them Legal.

What do you think should happen??

A: Just look at guns. Just because The UK has banned them doesn’t mean they go away. It just means law abiding people can’t defend them selves from criminals that get guns anyway.

The same goes for drugs. A ban will not make the problem go away.

Q: What type of litter should I use for my bunny?
I have tried:

Newspaper
Pine Bedding
Kernels etc.

And now Im gonna try with maybe cat litter because with the rest it gets really caked down…

I need the litter to be really easy to get and cheap…

By easy to get I mean like Grocery Store types… Shoppers Drug Mart etc..

A: Pine and cedar are not good litters, as they tend to mix with the rabbit urine and cause toxic fumes to the rabbit.

I used to use corn cob litter (sold in bags at the feed store) and my bunnies did just fine with that.

Corn cob is pretty cheap… you’re not going to find good rabbit supplies at the grocery store. Been there, done that.

Rabbits are smart, intelligent, wonderful pets, but they are very high maintenance, in that they need a lot of care (frequently changing litter boxes, cage cleaning, etc).

Don’t compromise your rabbit’s health for your own convenience. Go the extra mile and make the trip to a feed store or a pet store for your rabbit’s needs.

Q: Amlodipine Besylate(Norvasc)is used to treat hypertension in cats but so is Fortekor?
Prescription drugs from the vet are toooo expensive so if I get a script and get it filled myself thru my pharmacy it is cheaper. There is NO regulation on vet medicines they can charge you any price they want. Shame on them…………………………

A: Fortekor has been tested exclusively on cats and dogs. Therefore your Vet prescribes it because he knows exactly how it will work, how much your pet needs etc…and there are studies done that he can refer to. By selling Fortekor, he supports a pharmaceutical company that is commited to bringing new pet medications to the table. This is important because as companion animals, we want them to have access to the newest and best medication possilbe. Using a medication that has not been studied on cats or dogs is only advisable if there is no other alternative. This is called “off label” medication, and most Vets are obligated to use the medication that is labelled for pet use before they offer one that isn’t.
As for cost, there is going to be a presciption fee plus the cost of the pills. Animal medication is not as cheap as human meds because there is a smaller market for them : and are therefore not mass produced.
So this is the bottom line: Fortekor has been clinically shown to help cats with hypertension, the company that makes Fortekor spent the money to prove it and those costs are passed down to the consumer. So you need to decide if this is the medication you want your cat to have, or is something else that is cheaper and not tested for cats the better option?

I guess some cats aint up on Slug….

Ok…Ic…well now I gotta go home and listen to overcast….I was in a Zion I mood till i read the verse and that damn song started running throughout my head….arghhh…..Damn You Lucy!!!!

Q: does this person deserve to exist?
I know what everyone is going to say, everyone deserves to have a chance at life. I agree, but maybe not with my neighbour……..
We share the same block as her and because it is government housing, it is quite cheap.
Her sister lives with her and her “husband” does not. she used to have 2 dogs (one pitbull which was untrained and a jack russell) whom she lost because she let them roam around free downstairs by themselves without supervision or on a leash and just screamed their names out for them to come back. she has 3 cats (one of whom got pregnant from a wandering male. she let the cat go ahead with the pregnancy and when the kittens were born, gave the away free to random homes). the 3 cats are free to wander outside and 2 of them have attacked my dog by scratching him on the nose. they have 4 kids, probably different fathers but i cant say since i dont know. they swear at the neighbours, stay out by themselves until dark and i saw one of them holding a bottle of alcohol. she is only 7 years old. we have to share the communal laundry with them which they use to wash all sorts of their disgusting possessions including toilet rugs. they use the laundry 24/7 and take out everyone elses clothes to wash her own. she even used an extension cord, and plugged it into one of the spare plugs in the shared laundry so she could save money on electricity bill. she has no job and uses money that is given to her by the government. i have physically seen her doing drugs while i was at the local park and everytime we walk past her flat, it has a putrid smell even when the two security doors are shut. When we confronted her, she verbally abused us and told us it should be none of our business. Does a person like this, who wastes the Earth’s resources, who has no purpose in this world, who has accomplished nothing in her life, deserve to exist?
All opinions welcome
OKAY THAT TITLE HEADING WAS THE FIRST THING I COULD THINK OF. ALL I WANT IS YOUR OPINION ON WHAT YOU THINK OF THIS WOMAN, i have no idea what we can do to get rid of her. she hasnt done anything to the building so the housing cant evict her and their not going to be bothered coming around for surprise checks to make sure she’s complying to rules. cops have come plenty of times. she pulls the sweet face and promises it wont happen again

A: Well, she is alive, so God thought she deserved to exist. Who are we to presume we know better than God? She deserves to exist… in prison. I say call child services to get her kids put in foster care. Call the ASPCA to get her animals put in decent homes. And call the cops to get her put in jail. She may deserve a life, but you don’t deserve to have to put up with her.

Q: we must move house because of our neighbours, but problem with dog?
We seriously need to move flats because the neighbours below us are causing a lot of trouble. We have been living here for 15 years and until the new neighbours came a few months ago, we were fine. The housing cannot kick them out because they havent done anything to damage the property etc. However, we can only move to a rental property as we cannot afford anything else but we’re having a hard time finding a place that allows dogs. Anyway, on my previous question i received 2 responses, one of those who responded saying i shouldnt move if i cant find a place. we are definitely moving but it is just a matter of time until we find a place that allows dogs. My neighbour, we have simply had enough of.
All opinions welcome
so after all that, do you think it is reasonable when i say we want to leave?

A: your problem is not your dog; it’s your unruly neighbors. Don’t let them run you off from a place you’ve been at for years. Get together with other tenants that feel like you do, document specific episodes of their disrespectful behavior, and then petition to have them moved out due to rule infractions and poor interactive relations with the other neighbors. If they are like you say, there should be several other tennants that can contribute and support a list and petition for eviction.

Q: Does anybody know the cost of prescription drug without going through Ins. Co is the same in any pharmacy?
or cheaper in some (like Walmart, maybe)? I buy insulin for my cat at Walgreen. Just wonder if it’s cheaper in some other pharmacy. They normally don’t tell you how much unless you fill the prescription.

A: PLEASE shop around. Prices on prescription drugs varies wildly from one store to another. Walmart and Target are good. Not sure about Walgreen’s. I do know that Rite-Aid has one of the highest prices. CVS is also very high. Just call around.

Q: Confused, Hurt, Alone…?
I was raped last year over March break, I told my friends hoping to find some comfort in them, instead they told people which turned things around on me into becoming a low class slut… Last night my now ex boyfriend beat me up pretty bad… but I still want to be with him… sometimes i think im crazy but if i were crazy would i be able to comprehend that i am crazy on my own? About 4 days ago my cat went missing and my grades are slipping… I started and now am going to stop doing drugs but i feel like my whole like is crashing and screwing up… i don’t know what to do… or how to fix/help myself… im too scared and cheap/poor to get professional help… im only 17 but feel like im 40 and lost everything… I don’t know what to do or how to do it… I wish I could start over… but I know wishing isn’t going to get me anywhere… which is why i figure I would start getting some advice and then maybe keep going forward… I feel like I am going to break down… its pretty bad when i cant even talk to my friends or family about my problems because im too scared they will get mad at me or judge me…

A: First of all – I want to commend you for being so BRAVE. To put all of this out there is a difficult thing to do. You have been through a traumatic experience and when you tried to reach out – all you got was hatred from your so called friends (who are obviously NOT true friends). Second – I will NEVER pass judgement on you. Being a teenager in this day and age is a LOT harder than it was 20 years ago. Your generation has to face so many harsh things it’s truly saddening. I will do my best to help you in any way that I can. The first thing you need to do is to NEVER, EVER see your ex again. What you think is love right now, you will realize in time that it was something else. When I was 17, I met my “first love”. He took my virginity (after waiting 6 months and telling me he loved me) and after that, he became very possesive and abusive. He mentally abused me (telling me that I was ugly, fat, and such a bitch that I was lucky to be with him because no other guy would ever put up with me), and soon after, it escalated into physical abuse. I left him for about a month after the first time he hit me – but because I felt SO alone (no friends, not getting along with my family), I went back to him. I spent the next 3 years in hell. I even moved in with him when I was 19 and the abuse only got worse. I realize now that he was abusive becuase he was insecure. He KNEW that I was too good for him and the only way he could keep me was to keep me down. I was with him for a total of 4 /12 years. For a while, I thought, “I have put so much time and effort into this relationship, I can’t just walk away now.” But, in the end, my thoughts changed to, “I have WASTED so much time and energy with a person who doesn’t respect or truly love me – and I REFUSE to WASTE ONE MORE SECOND of my life being miserable.” I left and never looked back. He tried for 6 months to get me back but I was done. To this day (18 years later) I still have horrific nightmares about him. I don’t think it will ever go away. And I think the reason I stayed with him for so long is because I didn’t want to be alone. The fact that you realize you are not on a good path is the first step to helping yourself. One of the most important things you need to do now is to get some help to cope with the rape. If you don’t get help now, you may never be able to get past it and it will affect the rest of your life. It already has – you are allowing yourself to get beat up by a guy (perhaps subconciously you think you deserve it somehow), you started doing drugs – maybe to numb your feelings or to find a way not to think about it. The most convienent (and free) way to find someone to talk to – go see your school’s counselor. They are trained to deal with intense situations. (they are not just there to help you decide what career path you should choose). They have the same responsibility as a professional psychologist does – what you say to them is confidential. And most likely, the school counselor will have information to help you if they are not able to do so. Do you have ANYONE in your family (immediate or otherwise – like a sister, Mom, Aunt or cousin) that you feel you could maybe TRY to talk to? I know that you are scared that you will be judged or they will get angry with you, but you have to know that what happened to you was NOT YOUR FAULT and you didn’t deserve to be raped. I find it hard to believe that someone who loves you (like your Mom) would get MAD at you or judge you for being sexually assaulted! If you have an opportunity, try and ask your Mom (or whomever you choose) if you can talk to them about something. Let them know how difficult it is for you – tell them you are scared becuase you don’t want to be hurt again. And, as best you can, let them know what happened. Try to be brave and find the words. If you can’t say that you were raped, then use a different term (like, sexually assaulted). I think you will be surprised at their reaction – most likely they will want to help you. If you are able to tell someone in your family, you still need to get some professional help and there are a lot of options out there for people who don’t have the money. I have put two links below for you to look at. They have programs out there for free counseling and support groups. If those don’t have the info you need, then try “google” and put in “free counseling for rape victim, [city, state]” and it will bring up pages for you.
I am glad to hear that you have decided to stop using drugs. There is no good that can come of using. It’s only a means to a slow and painful suicide. (My husband is a recovering alcoholic/addict so I have personal experience with this). Again, I want to commend you on your bravery. This was not an easy thing to write or admit to. But, the first step is realizing that you want to get better. Now, you just need to put some things into action. Check out the websites and find a support group. I wish you the best and if you would like to email me, please do so, and we can talk more. Please take care and I hope to hear from you sometime.

A: This sounds like a movie begging to be made. This is what you should do. Write this stuff down as a screen play, get a crap job to make enough money to buy a camera and make a movie. That is what you need to do with your life my friend.
