Q: Has anyone ever used online Vetinary prescription drugs for their pets?
my cat has just been diagnosed with diabetes and I am wondering if getting the insulin online rather than from the vet (when I know what it is she is prescribed), will be safe? Im worried about buying ‘dodgy’ goods online which might harm her, but am keen to see if I can save some money as the cost of the treatment is looking like £120 a month at the moment.

A: Be very careful with this. The manufactures of most of the products will not guarantee the products you buy from the online pharmacies. I know for a fact that Navartis and Meriel will not guarantee those products. You should be concerned about “dodgy” goods from these companies. If you do speak with a salesperson for one of these companies ask if they will pay for any side issues that arise from using the products they sell. Then get it in writing. If you buy from these companies you void the manufactures warranty.
Ask your vet if a local pharmacy will compound the insulin. Cats can sometimes go from insulin dependent to non if you change their diet to a canned food diet. I feed my diabetic cat Friskies canned food and he has not had insulin in almost 3 years. Purina makes a diet called DM and it comes in canned and dry. I am not a fan of dry foods b/c they have a lot of carbs and that is why our cats become diabetic. Please talk with your vet about diet change as well as insulin treatment.

Q: If a vet. does not have a specific Rx in its pharmacy, they can still give my cat a prescription for it, no?
Ok my family’s new cat has fleas, I have tried a few prescription strength and OTC flea medicines for our cats but the only one that has worked and continued to work is Revolution for Cats. I have a lady friend that works as a veterinary assistant and I asked her if I could bring in my cat to complete the charade so I can buy more Revolution legitimately now since the online pet drug site I used to just get it from shipped from overseas also requires a prescription for it just like all the RL pet pharmacies would. The problem is she says her place doesn’t have Revolution, but I can’t see why they can’t just look at the cat and write a prescription for Revolution anyway and leave the rest to me. Just because a certain place writes you a pet prescription does not require you to fill it with them, or is this some stubborn veterinary practice?!
I am not planning to make my friend’s employer write me a prescription for my cat sight unseen, I just figure once I pay for an exam or whatever the hell it is gets them to write me a prescription they should be indifferent to wherever it is I happen to fill this prescription at.

In the good old days before the feds cracked down on all those online pet pharmacies selling Rx medicines without a Rx I didn’t have to jump through this hoop. Now my friend is making it even more difficult by saying her place doesn’t even stock Revolution.
Advantage is a joke! I tried that before, paid nearly $150 for it OTC from a vet, just to have it kill the fleas off for 2 months only to have nothing but the super-fleas impervious to everything out there besides Revolution left bothering my cats.
Frontline is crap too! That stuff was weaker than Advantage was, I didn’t even think that was possible.
I think what the real problem is is that the vet where my friend works at is just greedy and wants me to buy whatever kind of chump flea medicine they do have in their pharmacy. I know what I am talking about here, I have used Revolution (purchased online from overseas in the good ol days) and all my cats used it just fine. I have tried all the other flea medicines under the sun on my cats and none of them work worth a crap except for Revolution.
Pretty Kitty: That is what I meant! So what if my friend’s place does not stock it. I don’t care, so long as they write me a Rx for it I can fill it wherever I want or feel like filling it.
Advantage stopped working after two months, I gave it to the cats as indicated on the box, but after the two month mark only the incorrigible super-fleas remained. We combed the cats and vacuumed the place throughout but still the super-fleas stuck around for more.
So in summary, either the place where my friend works is trying to be as self-serving as possible in that they only want to write Rx for things they stock or my friend is being a bitch? Either or both seems to be the real reason…

Q: Can you get a Prescription from your vet to buy medications online?
I have an elderly Jack Russell who is incontinent and needs Propalin Syrup. She also suffers from flea allergic dermatitis and just one flea bite will cause her to flare up and start ripping her hair out! As we have an outdoor cat, (although we treat them both for fleas) its impossible to stop her picking up flea bites.

The medications she needs for these conditions (Propalin Syrup, Prednicare and Synulox) are fearly expensive at the Vets and as we are on a low income we are struggling to afford them. I’ve found a website called Pet Dispensary where they sell the same drugs at a lower cost but you must provide a prescription. Would a vet be willing to do this? Plus, once you’d paid for postage etc would it be any cheaper than buying them from the Vets?

A: By law, a vet has to give you a prescription if you ask for it rather than fill the medication at the practice. Some vets may charge a fee for writing the prescription though. Many times, after the S&H, your vet may be cheaper than the online pharmacy. Also, many vets will price match an online pharmacy price.

Q: Am I really uncared for?
Well, no one calls me, barely anyone talks to me online, my mother won’t let me out of the house without her permission, people say I complain too much, but I never speak to them. A: Oh my God, sweetie. Wow. I really think that you need to find a qualified counselor (or a psychologist or psychiatrist) that can help you deal with some of the problems you are facing now. I am so sorry, and wish I could help you truly beyond the words I write here. But know that someone cares, as will others if you reach out. Try to call someone that is a professional.

I urge you to seek counseling (maybe through school, your job – not sure how old you are) as you are understandably holding all of this in, which is only increasing your depression and self doubt. Do I think you are depressed? Oh yes, but I am worried for you now because depression gets worse if left untreated. You should be on an antidepressant, but Doctors won’t prescribe them to young people because of dangerous side effects, which is why he won’t give them to you, I’m afraid.

Q: I need to but sparklers now!?
Are you telling me that I cannot buy fireworks just because it is not the season for it?? A: If all you want are sparklers try a party supply. Even in states with the strictest of fireworks laws you can generally get sparklers in the birthday supplies.

MY SITUATION: I receive benefits that do not completely cover the cost of rent, food, medications, and especially not hygienic necessities. A: Such jobs are indeed in cheaper restaurants (especially fast food and small non-chain setups), construction and agriculture. Ask for manager/owner and explain the situation.

Other cash jobs are baby-sitting, tutoring and private art lessons. All of these are more effectively advertized via word of mouth, so start by offering to do it for friends for real cheap, or in exchange for food.

It also hugely matters how you look and speak. People need to know that you are a reasonable and reliable person.

Q: doctors/psychiatrists, am i actually mental?
i have been avoiding this question for awhile, but i think that there is something wrong. my fucking parents have decided that i am not sane, and they don’t even know half of whats going on with me. they don’t even have reasons to think i do. here is some background info on me, most of it may not seem to have to do with anything, but some may contribute. these problems have gotten worse.

i am 15. i have major problems around people. in my classes, the whole time i am freaking out, i just want to hit them or run or something. it’s like a small panic attack. i HATE them, i only feel comfortable around one person at a time. i dont talk to anyone. when i do, its sarcasm. i cant stand it when people (other than the ones online) know things about me. i lie to everyone who talks to me, even about trivial things. i automatically dont do things people expect me to do, because i hate feeling like the world has control over me. i have had a boyfriend for a long time. i dont understand people ever, but i understand him the best. he is concerned with what he sees of my behavior, but we are in love. sometimes i think he is the only reason why i bother to wake up in the morning. people call me a freak, and although i dont talk alot i have gotten into four physical fights this year i’ve won three. no one really knows about my daily migraine auras, that i see people’s voices and i see my emotions, drifting in my field of vision as colors and shapes. i am also partly colorblind, and sometimes people’s voices are colors that i don’t see in the actual world. i am an artist, a musician, and a writer, published in all fields. i am a runner. i am very into studying arachnids and insects, i love spiders, scorpions, whip scorpions, mantises, all of them, i do expiriments such as breeding fruit flies to be flightless. my mom is opposed to all of my talents, she thinks that they are useless and she hates my pets. my parents restrict me from taking care of them and they die. i make a little money off of my hobbies, but it doesnt matter. i HATE my dependancy on my parents, i pay for my cellphone bill and clothes and txtbooks and stuff like that, but i hate myself for living with them and i hate having to eat THEIR food that i didnt personally buy. i do poorly in school, because i hate being told to do things, i cant help lying to the teachers, peoples fucking loud voices take over my vision, and most of all i can’t function normally with all of the people there in the room. i dont do drugs or anything, but recently a guy blamed me for putting marijuana in his backpack, and half of the people he talked to believe him. i have a problem with sex, i want it sometimes to the point of obsession, although i know it could screw things up for me even worse at this point. i have always had issues with people, but its getting worse. of this list, my parents know about my vision and i guess they know i am “introverted”. they think that if i take medicine to get rid of my colors, i will do better in school. but i hate school. i LIKE my colors, i DONT CARE if i am a freak, i hate that i have to give up something i’ve always had in order to benifit something i hate. im never going to do anything academic anyway, i CANT WORK UNDER PEOPLE. i am an ARTIST, i ALWAYS HAVE BEEN. and i NEED to be a freak, i’ll NEVER be like anyone else even if i give up the colors. i can survive without school, i publish my guitar albums and sell art to universities and in different areas of the US. i hate people so much, i want them dead. i play with fire alot, i make bombs and things because i like watching objects explode. i want everything gone, i just want it to black out. i think about killing myself, but i realize that that would be giving in. i CANT give in to anything i do, i have a problem with giving up. it IS an obsession. i have hurt myself though. i used to hold my fingers in a flame to see how long i could stand it, and i have been bitten by black/brown widows seven times. i am immune to their venom, but it made me feel good to be doing something no one would approve of. everything has been building up since third grade to the point where it is now, in highschool. now my dads job has been gone since the reccession started, and my mom is recovering from surgery. she copes with her problems by telling me that IM screwed up. but shes in the dark. i have control over what she thinks. i have control, and someday im going to hurt everyones little feelings. the family wants to move because they are losing money. but i’m not losing money, thats their problem. they dont know about half of my buisnesses. i have younger siblings. they are “normal”, or so my parents say. “why cant you be like them” they want to know. its because im not them. i hate life. and i hate people. but i dont think im mental. i dont want to talk to anyone about anything. my parents want me to see a psychologist and get drugged. i cant stand recieveing help on anything, and i dont want people t
to know about me. but im asking, please, help me now.
